Press release from the issuing company
To deliver greater customer value, Markem-Imaje has opened a global competence center in Barcelona which brings together global support functions and consolidates management of its Spanish and Portuguese sales organizations to the same location.
As part of its ongoing commitment to the industrial marking and coding sector, Markem-Imaje announces the opening of a 2,500 meters squared (27,000 square feet) office in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Catalonia, Spain. With a capacity up to 150 employees, it houses a global competence center, whose aim is to improve the company’s ability to deliver solutions to customers worldwide more cost-efficiently, as well as the sales management teams for Spain and Portugal.
The competence center in the greater Barcelona area brings together global supply chain, finance, compliance and human resources functions with the aim to optimize operational performance by ensuring an efficient, consistent and standardized delivery of high quality services.
“At Markem-Imaje, we are always looking to improve the value we provide our customers,” observes Vincent Vanderpoel, CEO of Markem-Imaje. “ Housing these functions under the same roof helps facilitate the kind of cross-functional teamwork which provides best-in-class support, expertise, guidance and training to the rest of the organization and promotes an excellent customer experience.”
This area of Barcelona was chosen for its access to a pool of high caliber, internationally-minded talent fluent in the range of languages required for a center of this type. Personnel in these support functions from other parts of Markem-Imaje ? such as elsewhere in Spain, Portugal and Geneva ? have also relocated to the Sant Cugat office. Likewise, sales management personnel formerly in Lisbon, Portugal and Sant Quirze del Valles, Spain are now based here.
Markem-Imaje worked closely with ACCIÓ, department of the Generalitat de Catalunya for the development of the Industry, to open this new office.
