Chevy Chase, Md. – RadTech, the trade association for UV+EB technology, is encouraging start-ups, innovators and universities to apply for cash and travel grants as part of the RadLaunch Class of 2019 Educational Accelerator. With the rapid development of 3D printing, LEDs, and sustainable materials--ultraviolet and electron beam technologies (UV+EB) are taking center stage in the development of new products and manufacturing processes.
Building on the successful start to the RadLaunch program, RadTech International North America, the nonprofit trade association for UV+EB, is continuing to grow this initiative to identify and support unique technologies. Joining with Mike Idacavage of Colorado Photopolymer Solutions as RadLaunch Co-Chair is Dr. Darryl Boyd, Research Chemist for the US Naval Research Lab, and a recent honoree as part of the Chemical and Engineering News’ Talented Twelve. “Dr. Boyd is recognized for his innovative research in optical systems,” says Mike Idacavage. “However, what truly sets Darryl ahead is the work he has done to bring chemistry and science in general to today’s youth. His communication skills and energetic ways to engage his audience are unique, and I am confident that under Darryl’s leadership, the RadLaunch program will make a significant impact on the world of UV+EB technology.”
