Press release from the issuing company
American Label, a Salt Lake City-based label and packaging converter owned by Fisher Group, Inc., is expanding its digital printing capacity with the addition of the high-speed HP Indigo 8000 Digital Press, as the company transforms its business from primarily a flexographic print shop with one digital press, to a full range digital shop with several flexo presses.
The HP Indigo 8000, the most productive narrow-web digital press in the market, was installed this month at American Label to drive higher volume production of digitally printed pressure-sensitive labels, flexible packaging, and shrink sleeves for their clients which largely consist of food, beverage and nutritional supplement manufacturers.
“Adding this HP Indigo 8000 press allows us to be highly productive and increase our capacity while at the same time have a smaller industrial footprint,” said David Fisher, CEO, Fisher Group, Inc. “It’s also helping us drive our conversion from a traditional flexo to digital. Cost wise, this new digital solution is very competitive with traditional flexo printing, but with all the advantages of digital printing.”
The HP Indigo 8000 Digital Press prints at more than double the speed of an HP Indigo WS6800 press at up to 262 linear feet per minute.
In business for 50 years and an HP Indigo press owner since 2007, American Label also recently installed two HP Indigo WS6800 digital presses and upgraded their HP Indigo WS6600 to HP Indigo WS6800 capabilities at their recently opened second Utah location.
“The continued expansion of our HP Indigo fleet puts American Label into a position to become the digital printing leader in the Western U.S.,” added Fisher.
