Roll Systems Showcases 'Two Up' Features at Xplor

Press release from the issuing company

Miami Beach, Florida According to Roll Systems Inc., "Everything's Coming Up Two Up" at Xplor 2000 this week in Miami Beach. Roll is showcasing a variety of solutions, some industry firsts, for both black and white and color continuous digital printers. George McKenna, Roll president, said, "We're doing things on the floor this year, both in our booth and with partners, that Xplor audiences have never seen before. Practically everyone prints two-up, but visitors are going to be surprised at the variety of new ways these jobs can now be handled." "This solution is unique," said Jules Fried, company vice president of marketing, "and anxiously awaited. We're finding a ready market of customers who want the capability to produce finished products like saddle-stitched booklets in full-color and in line." Also on display in Booth #1125 and designed for today's faster wider printers, is Roll's TwoUp System for black and white output. It is shown producing single sheets, slit and merged from two-up output printed on a pinless web by an OcÈ PageStream 530. Finally, Roll's AutoLoad System with patented tilting table is being shown with the new Xerox DocuPrint 500 continuous printer readying two-up utility statements for more efficient inserter feeding. Roll's display of two-up solutions continues in other booths. In the IBM booth (#904) the TwoUp System is being displayed with the IBM Infoprint 4000 ID5/ID6 producing statements. In the OcÈ booth (#1507) Roll's TwoUp System can be seen in the new triplex configuration comprised of a PageStream 1060 (duplex) and OcÈ PageStream 372 where color charts are added. Roll's Digital Color Unwinder and Color Cutter/Trimmer/Stacker can be seen in the Xeikon booth (#325) where the new higher speed Xeikon DCP 320/D printer is producing full-color fully personalized 1:1 marketing documents for targeted telecom company customers. A DocuSheeter DP can be found in Duplo's booth (#1895) feeding a Xerox DocuPrint 180 and aiding the in-line production of booklets. The DocuSheeter permits hours of non-stop feeding without having to load sheets of paper from reams, and reduces the labor needed to feed paper, freeing up staff for other tasks. Roll paper also costs less and reduces waste. Roll's Digital Color Unwinder and Color Cutter are improving the productivity of color printing on a Xerox DocuColor 130 in the GBR booth (#1121). Output is cut, trimmed and tri-folded into a finished piece of marketing collateral completely in-line. In the B&Mac246;we Systec booth (#1925) Roll's high-speed Inserter Unwinder can be seen in action aiding the production of a telephone billing application. The Inserter Unwinder unwinds the pinless continuous formsat the required speed and feeds the paper into the 380 Stream pinless system. Other Inserter Unwinders can be found in Bell & Howell's booth (#515) feeding a Bell & Howell 6000 inserter, and in the Pitney Bowes booth (#1815) feeding a Series 8 inserter. Finally, Roll's Inserter Unwinder is feeding EMC Document Systems' document processing system to create a finished mail piece in booth #797.
