Press release from the issuing company
Lineup includes high-volume capsule filler, deep-draw thermoformer and continuous-motion cartoning and strip packaging units
Fairfield, N.J. – MG America, the U.S. subsidiary of MG2 of Bologna, Italy and a leading supplier of processing and packaging equipment, will showcase a variety of premium equipment at Healthcare Packaging Expo, October 14-17 in Chicago. Booth #W-669 will feature the company’s high-volume continuous-motion PLANETA 100 capsule filler, as well as its Cariba 300 side-load, continuous-motion cartoner, COMAS MNDA1 continuous-motion strip packaging unit and FarmoRes Prima K7 Thermoformer.
The PLANETA 100 Capsule Filler is a continuous motion machine for medium to high production volumes, capable of speeds up to 100,000 capsules/hour. The PLANETA 100 can fill powders, pellets, micro-tablets, tablets, liquids and capsule-in-capsule, among other formats. The machine’s modular design features two removable dosing stations that can accommodate different dispensing units. The PLANETA 100 is available with automatic statistical in-process control system integrated into the machine, 100% NETT weight control system or the 100% Multinet weight control system, which is capable of monitoring and controlling each component in a capsule – a useful feature for combination products.
Also on display will be the popular Cariba 300 side-load, continuous-motion cartoner. MG America supplies Cariba’s premium line of cartoners to markets in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, and also assumes customer service responsibilities including pre-installation inspection, line integration and ongoing maintenance duties. The Cariba 300 balcony style cartoner is available in various versions with different pitches, covering a wide range of format sizes. Achieving speeds up to 300 cartons/minute, the machine can be equipped with several automatic feeding systems for tube, bottle, blister, syringe, sachet, stick pack and vial applications.
Also on display is the COMAS MNDA1, a novel continuous-motion strip packaging unit. COMAS’ reliable designs incorporate the latest electronic process controls and software systems to meet a wide variety of application speeds, I/O demands and data management necessities. The patented technology of the COMAS MNDA1 allows strips to cool while moving. The MNDA1 handles single-dose strips from 0.3-10ml. Its compact, U-shaped layout achieves speeds up to 25 strips/minute, and can utilize piston, peristatic pumps or time-pressure filling systems.
In addition, the FarmoRes Prima K7 Compact Thermoformer is ideal for the deep-draw thermoforming of syringes, ampoules, vials and medical devices – all in a compact, balcony-constructed frame of just over 16.5 feet. The single feeding system offers a buffer surface for two different products. A FarmoRes delta robot provides product loading with additional axis for rotation prior to deposit, and a camera system checks for fill/no-fill as well as product integrity. The downsized thermoformer can link up to a cartoner in less than 3.3 feet.
Other machines at MG America’s booth will include the MG2 GSL 10 Case Packer, Anritsu 10 Lane Check Weigher, Axomatic AXO800 Tube Filler, Cariba C230 Cartoner and KG-Pharma Futorque X-1 Tablet Press.
