Available for the DC-746 Slitter/Cutter/Creaser model now and later for the DC-646 Slitter/Cutter/Creaser, the new integration connects Duplo devices to Fiery Impose software, giving users an automatically-generated, accurate preview of slit, cut, and crease locations in their printing jobs. Users also can save new layouts as templates to automate imposition on future jobs. And, using Fiery Impose’s existing Duplo barcode support, users can load printed jobs directly into the DC-646 and DC-746 and let the finisher perform automatic setup for the job based on the barcode. The integration has significantly improved efficiency at EFI and Duplo customer Global Print, Inc., in Glendale, California. “After implementing the EFI Fiery Impose integration, our projects now move even faster in our finishing production environment while maintaining high quality and accuracy,” said Ken Kaypekian, Global Print’s sales manager. “Planning our job layouts first on our Duplo DC-746 and then moving it to our Fiery Impose environment, instead of the other way around, has been a much more efficient workflow and the accuracy is now phenomenal.”

The new integration feature is currently available through a firmware update delivered online for the Duplo DC-746’s PC Controller software.
