Tokyo – BST eltromat Japan, a subsidiary of BST eltromat International, will be presenting solutions for quality assurance systems in the web-processing industries at this year’s IGAS 2018. The exhibition is an international trade show, which showcases the latest products, technology and services related to printing, converting, packaging and much more. BST eltromat Japan will show highlights for web guiding, 100% inspection, web monitoring, register control and color management on booth 3-19.

100% inspection and web monitoring for narrow web and wide web applications
BST eltromat will present the web monitoring system POWERScope 5000 with new features, including the wear-free electronic zoom and LED flash. This digital web monitoring system is suited for use in label printing and other narrow web applications and offers improved image quality. With POWERScope 5000 machine operators can detect irregularities on the printing machine very fast. As an entry-level model the POWERScope 5000 features a uniquely easy-to-operate user interface. A further exhibition highlightwill be the 100% inspection system iPQ-Check for wide web applications. Typical areas for implementation of the iPQ-Check include inspection of flexible packaging, decors and wallpaper. The high-performance line scan cameras deliver detailed color image data across the entire print format and log the production results. iPQ-Check is one of four modules of BST eltromat’s iPQ-Center, the company’s high-end quality assurance solution. iPQ stands for “increasing Productivity & Quality.” The other modules are iPQ-View for web monitoring, iPQ-Spectral for inline spectral color measurement and iPQ-Workflow, which integrates the three quality assurance tasks in a closed quality assurance process.

Reliable and easy-to-use register control and color management system
BST eltromat has enhanced its well-known precision solution for register control AR 4000 for offset printing. The updated AR 4400 is consisting of a new user interface and allows the well-known precise adjustment of color and front-to back register as well as the reliable control of additional tools. AR 4400 is well known in the market for its short set-up times and excellent user-friendliness, including the real-time, live production images displayed on machine operators' monitors. In combination with AR 4400 the company will present its FSS 15 ink fountain control, which ensures high-precision color settings in all offset printing units. BST eltromat provides an extra option for the FSS 15: finecolor ink fountains with laser-cut precision blades, special seals, and mechanics for ink key adjustment for unlimited reproducible gap openings between ink blades and ink ductor roller in all ink keys.

Web guiding with new controller and sensor positioner
In the web guiding category, BST eltromat will show the ekr 500 digital Unit Touch, which consists of a controller and a commander. The ekr 500 digital Unit Touch convinces with intuitive operation, new software, a higher-resolution graphical display, and maximum operating convenience. In Tokyo, visitors can also see the new sensor positioner FVG POS 100, which is suitable for wide web application, for example blown film extrusion lines or printing presses. The sensor positioner is designed for web edge (epc) and web center (cpc) guiding in different applications in which frequently changing web widths are used or a high degree of automation is required.
