Press release from the issuing company
St Albans – Businesses in a multitude of creative and manufacturing sectors across the UK use Zünd digital cutting systems every day, with signage, graphics, packaging and textiles specialists no exception. In fact, the Zünd UK community has been busy sharing photos and videos demonstrating its innovative and colourful output in this industry as we head into British summer.
There was a definite feeling of springing into a new season around Easter, when Uprise Print, based in Cardiff, created multicoloured gift boxes on its Zünd, perfect for Easter eggs. Meanwhile, Cheltenham's Bigger Printing Company used its Zünd to create a series of shape-cut free-standing animal characters for a family Easter trail at the 18th-century Rococo Garden – the ideal follow-up to its project bringing the Aardman Studios creation Dusty Duck to life at the Slimbridge Wetland Centre as a shape-cut information display. Staffordshire Zünd user Printdesigns proved it was an animal lover too, with an adorable cartoon puppy cut-out for the pet charity PDSA.
Also enjoying the natural world was Denbigh's Humphreys Signs, who finally gave its team an application room with a view: a full-colour printed trompe l'oeil wall graphic, cut on a Zünd system, where operators can imagine walking through a leafy forest path. ImageCo, based in Leeds, created something that would fit right in – a 3D replica tree stump made from fibreboard, cut on its Zünd table.
With the feeling of music festivals in the air, Zünd UK Ltd spotted Uprise Print's signage featuring the iconic branding of the Rolling Stones, printed in vibrant red and yellow. Summer colours continued over at Chesterfield's Specialised Canvas, which created a custom job in industrial textiles in sunny yellow, and at McGowans in Belfast which made short work of Foamex letters in multicoloured designs. Exhibit Graphics, based in London, also got the paintbox out for its imitation neon sign, using LEDs with opal acrylic and Dibond, all cut on a Zünd system.
As the heatwave kicked in, Printdesigns shared the ultimate holiday-themed project: life-size cardboard stand-ins for a school summer fair.
"Zünd users are incredibly creative and it's fantastic to see photos and videos of what they achieve using their digital cutting systems shared on social media," says Ian Guest from Zünd UK Ltd.
"Over the past few months we've seen some incredible work, not least Signbox's amazingly colourful – and FESPA Award-winning – graphic artworks for Cardinia Real Estate’s London HQ, precision-cut on the Zünd S3 digital cutter, and Hollywood Monster's vibrant and eye-catching work for McDonald's restaurants.
"The modular construction of Zünd systems means they can be used in different ways by a wide variety of different businesses, who can choose the perfect combination of modules, material handling systems and tools to work with materials from cardboard and fibreboard to Dibond, textiles and vinyl. We invite all our users to share their work with us online."
