Genius 102C is a "100% Comprehensive" inspection system which inspects every square inch of product produced, in real time. The product was engineered for printing and converting applications, so it will detect a comprehensive range of print quality defects without repeated false defect alarms. Genius 102C is also the first 100% real time inspection system to include a web viewing capability, again reflective of its design by a specialist in printing and converting. Genius 102C utilizes up to twelve digital high speed/high resolution area scan cameras, a fixed focal length lens and high intensity Xenon strobes with computer regulated flash intensity control. The unique image capture design makes it entirely insensitive to ambient light. Genius 102C runs at 50 Hz, so the standard system is suitable for web speeds to 1600 fpm. For higher speeds, multiple banks of cameras are used. The 10 bit technology in Genius 102C produces 4 times the resolution of competitive 8 bit systems. The result is an inspection system capable of detecting a wider range of print defects. Genius 102C will identify print defects which include doctor blade streaks, splash, haze, register errors, color errors, type fill-in, dirty print, misprints, ink smear, and other print defects as small as 0.012". Because Genius 102C is a real time 100% system, it is capable of identifying both random and repeating defects and is there fore applicable to in-line applications ( printing presses) and for post processing (doctor machines). The system will detect trend defects such as color or register drift, and will not inadvertently learn a defect - two significant advantages over competitive line scan based inspection systems. Genius LeX Genius LeX is a 100% inspection system designed for use on narrow and intermediate label and folding carton presses, and was designed to be effectively used as a visual inspection system, a 100% defect detection system or both. The product features an intuitive graphic touch screen interface, a single camera with a 4" X 5" field of view, a full set of visual inspection features which includes positional memory, and a defect detection package that automatically inspects 100% of the repeat. Genius LeX processes and analyzes ten images per second, providing a substantially higher sampling ratio than competitive system on the market, which results in higher productivity gains from the system. It has also been shown to acquire master images in one-third the time of competitive systems, resulting in substantially faster set-up and higher press up time. The use of a unique core design architecture allows BST PRO MARK to guarantee Genius LeX as fully upgradable and expandable.
