Press release from the issuing company
In its drive to ensure optimal operational efficiency across the Group, leading commercial printing and manufacturing operation, Novus Holdings has recently contracted manroland web systems to perform an e-retrofit at one of its Gauteng printing facilities.
A retrofit on a printing press is part of a long-term strategy for renewing obsolete components on existing presses with the goal of achieving longer lifespans and reliability. An e-retrofit refers more specifically to the replacement of the electrical controls.
This GEOMAN press at Novus Holdings saw the replacement of the Interbus Loop, ink level sensors, web break detectors, angle encoder, valve cluster interface and operating panel. This was a comprehensive project and consisted of multiple small replacements within the printing unit, folder unit and turner bar section. This process was conducted while the press was still in operation, resulting in no impact on production thus no disruption for their clients,” says Nidal Odeh, Vice President Sales & Service at manroland web systems.
manroland and the Novus Holdings group have a long-standing partnership, and manroland has previously conducted both hardware and software upgrades to the current system that the GEOMAN presses in use. “We are proud of our partnership with Novus Holdings, and plan to continue to service the Group with our cutting- edge equipment to ensure the best quality and results for their client’s,” concludes Odeh.
Novus Holdings is the holding company for the Novus Print division that incorporates the Group’s Paarl Coldset and Paarl Media printing facilities across South Africa. Visit https://novus.holdings for more information.
