Press release from the issuing company
Vancouver, B.C. – On April 25, at approximately 10pm, the head Vancouver office and pressroom of Metropolitan Fine Printers (MET) was destroyed due to a fire. No employees were hurt or injured. The company is currently working with the Vancouver Fire & Rescue authorities to determine the cause of the fire.
Contingency plans have been initiated, and MET anticipates there will be minimal disruption to business. All of MET’s backup servers are intact, and all data is safe and undamaged. MET’s Calgary and other Vancouver locations are functioning as normal, and the company is working closely with its suppliers, vendors and clients to ensure business continuity.
“We are very thankful that all of our employees are safe, and that no-one was hurt during this fire,” says MET President Nikos Kallas. “We appreciate the support we are receiving from our industry colleagues, and are exploring all options to ensure that we can continue to serve our valuable clients.”
The company plans to re-build for the future. Founded in 1977, MET is one of North America’s most foremost printing companies. The company has other locations in Vancouver and Calgary, and provides a wide range of printing services, including augmented reality, renderings and 3-D display solutions.
