New Low-Migration Blister Coating from WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH

Press release from the issuing company

Gerhardshofen – The company has developed a new coating formulation for blister coatings with optimized processing parameters in close collaboration with its customers. The resulting low migration coating is now available under the product identifier SENOLITH® WB BLISTER COATING FP NDC 359503.

Due to the new formulation, this coating can be processed at activation temperatures of 145 °C at high cycle rates in the blister process.

Further advantages of the SENOLITH® WB BLISTER COATING FP NDC 359503 are:

  • Sealability with all common blister foils
  • Good bond adhesion
  • Less influence of temperature on the blister film and the product
  • Energy saving due to low activation temperature
  • Potential increase in productivity by reducing cycle times
  • Safe inline processing on the printing machine

The SENOLITH® WB BLISTER COATING FP NDC 359503 was successfully tested by various customers of WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH during the introductory phase and was approved. An official certificate of compliance by an independent testing institute for the use of the coating in indirect food contact is also already available and can be requested from WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH if required.

Arno Dürr, Sales Director of WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH about the new product: “We are very pleased to meet the requests of our customers for modifications and optimizations of our products. Several customers approached us with this now available optimized blister coating in order to achieve solutions for increased productivity while reducing production costs. Of course, the premise was that this optimization process had to have no effect on the quality of the end product, which we have successfully achieved with the new SENOLITH® WB BLISTER COATING FP NDC 359503.” Arno Dürr concluded: “Especially with temperature-sensitive goods that are to be blister-packed, our new blister coating gives our customers not only monetary, but also qualitative advantages and security over conventional coating systems due to its lower activation temperature and shorter cycle times.”
