Press release from the issuing company
Including an InDesign plug in that will transform artwork upload capabilities.
Crawley, England – Infigo Software continues to innovate following a busy 12 months for the distinctive personalized print e-commerce software company. The latest developments to be announced come just in time for Dscoop Dallas. Infigo Software will showcase two major enhancements to its MegaEdit design tool at the prestigious event being held in the Gaylord Texan, Dallas, on March 25-28.
The first of these developments is a game-changing Adobe InDesign plug–in for MegaEdit, which will revolutionize artwork creation and template building in the MegaEdit design product. Users can simply upload their designs directly from Adobe InDesign, and the variable fields and image placeholders will be automatically created in MegaEdit. MegaEdit, which was originally developed as an easy-to-use personalized photobook and photo-gifting design tool, has evolved to be a far more sophisticated and complete software package, yet still easy to use and adaptable to the needs of its growing client list.
The demand for engaging personalisation has increased dramatically in recent years, which has led to the evolution of Infigo’s client base to include businesses in almost every sector. As the innovative company had developed its solutions to meet the needs of the digital generation, it is attracting clients offering all manner of personalized products: from marketing materials and business stationery, clothing and household items, to cartons, labels and flexo packaging, and even licence plates! With this rapid growth in demand, Infigo recognised the need to provide a dynamic solution, and it has evolved the MegaEdit product accordingly to meet the needs of its varied clients.
The InDesign plug-in is the latest update that makes the design tool more flexible and user friendly than ever before. The new functionality will significantly reduce template building tasks, cutting workloads and removing duplication of work in the design stage, ensuring a new-found work flow efficiency is possible.
Douglas Gibson, Managing Director at Infigo Software, explains, “We pride ourselves on being responsive to our customers’ needs and tailoring our solution to deliver the best for each client – and it is this that sets us apart. The latest development of the Adobe InDesign plug-in will further enhance the experience of using our intuitive software. We’re excited to be able to introduce this to the American market at Dscoop Dallas.”
Further to this, the talented front-end development team at Infigo Software have been working on new functionality to the MegaEdit 3D preview tool. The 3D preview module shows a true-to-life representation of the personalized products created in MegaEdit, and the benefits of this to the end user have been proven time and again since Infigo launched the 3D product two years ago. The product preview removes a barrier to purchase, delivering a ‘try-before-you-buy’ experience that means customers can see what they are getting before they order. This enviable user experience really sets the product apart, enhancing customers’ buying journeys, and the latest development to the tool takes this to a new level, with the opportunity to offer greater self-service preview capabilities to customers than ever before.
In early 2017, the MegaEdit 3D preview tool was enhanced to include special finishes, such as, foiling, spot UV and embossing. This year the capabilities to show special finishes have been developed further, and the tool now enables personalized and variable areas to include special finishes. Multiple light angles, custom surface reflections, and simulated embossing, varnish and engraving options make it possible to generate truly true-to-life previews; and MegaEdit 3D remains compatible with ESKO. This functionality supports layers that can have variable fields, helping to create opportunities for brands to offer self-service, on-demand personalization with eye-catching special print finish previews. The company believe this will open the door for its clients to offer market-leading personalized print and products.
Gibson, comments, “This enhancement to the MegaEdit 3D preview tool is something that will have huge appeal to brands looking to create stand out through the most impactful personalization. The 3D module already makes the user experience something that we are very proud of, but this latest functionality means customers will no longer need to speak directly to a printer to add special finishes; they can see a rotatable 3D visual representation of their personalized order, including special finish options, before they buy. We envisage this increasing the scope for brands to offer distinctive personalized products, which is ideal for the booming personalized gift market, premium brand and packaging producers”.
Infigo Software demonstrates its commitment to delivering an outstanding user experience, with its clients’ needs firmly at its core. There are many web-to-print suppliers to choose from, so to differentiate from the commoditized, off-the-shelf solutions, Infigo constantly strives to deliver more to set its clients’ businesses apart from their competitors.
Gibson continues, “The Dscoop Dallas theme of ‘Unleashing Print’ fits perfectly with the innovations we’re showcasing to unleash the possibilities in digital print. I’m also excited to be hosting another engaging presentation in the Solutions Showcase, discussing what businesses need to be focusing on in order to evolve and grow in the digital future.“
