Global Brands Take to the Stage at the First Dedicated Cosmetic Aerosol Conference in China

L'Oréal, Beiersdorf and Kao are just some of the major brands taking to the stage as part of the ADF Conference at ADF&PCD Shanghai 2018, China’s only dedicated event for the aerosol, dispensing, perfume & cosmetic packaging and design community, which opens its doors on 28 & 29 March, at the Shanghai Convention & Exhibition Center of International Sourcing.

Day One will kick off giving the brand’s perspective with keynote speaker, Willie Wan, Senior Packaging Manager at L'Oréal China, talking about the latest market trends, challenges and opportunities facing his team and the wider industry, on a daily basis.

Next up is Martin Kung, Technopack agent and Managing Director of Shanghai Nuozhong Packing Tech, presenting ‘a new renaissance in printing process’. During his talk, Kung will look at his firm’s Martinenghi Digital Printing Machine and touch upon its key features in terms of efficiency, flexibility, capacity and endless customisations.

With opportunities in mind, Georges Bouille, Consultant at the Lindal Group, will take a deeper look at the aerosol industry, covering everything from innovation, unique user experience and regulation, through to industry opportunities, consumer satisfaction and creating organisation value. He will also outline the newest marketing techniques, sharing a number of megatrends that are changing how the industry works.

For those interested in enhancing brand packaging, Peter Wang from KURZ, will look at how the company’s foil decoration solutions help packaging look smarter and improve brand identity, even in the aerosol and dispensing industry.

Siegfried Christ, Sales Director at Mall + Herlan, is presenting ‘new trends and technologies in aerosol can production’. During his session, Christ will cover IE technology, DWI technology, ironing of IE cans, new materials for IE, super alloys and decorating options, giving providing the audience an invaluable update on the very latest in technical advances.

With safety playing a major role, not just at the production phase, but also throughout the entire supply chain, from factory floor to consumer, Stefan Lau, Business Development Manager at Emerson, will look at the innovations designed to boost safety, productivity and product quality. As part of this, he will touch upon Emerson’s Aerosol microleak detection system.

Closing Day One will be Herbert Naef, Manager of MetalDeco Inks at Sun Chemical. During his talk on colour management concepts for the metal deco industry, he will explore four key themes - seeing colours, colour communication, digital colour communication and colour management services.

Keynote speaker, Bernhard Felten, Front End Innovation – Packaging at Beiersdorf, will start Day Two of the ADF&PCD Shanghai conference by looking at the future of the global aerosol industry.

As part of the conference’s focus on new breakthrough technologies, Yoshiaki Iwasaki at Toyo Aerosol Industry, will present the company’s brand new product - the Double-Bag Ultimate Aerosol. This allows two contents to be discharged at the same time from the one aerosol. Antal Gyorgy Almásy, Chemical Engineer and R&D Director at AeroService, will then present NanoSalt, its aerosol dispenser for reducing sodium within the human diet. Lastly, Molly Meng, International Marketing and Foreign Trade Sales Representative at ZhongShan Luencheong Dispensing Pump, is highlighting its e-commerce dispensing pump design.

Leading manufacturer of cosmetics and household products, Kao Corporation will host three sessions with an environmental theme. Peter Lamboy, Consultant at Kao Japan, will look at eco-design and sustainable developments. Noboru Yashima, Senior Manager R&D - Core Technology - Package Development Research at Kao Japan, will talk about the ‘Raku-raku eco pack refill’. Finally, Inagawa Yoshinori, Director R&D - Core Technology - Package Development Research at Kao Japan, will talk about the firm’s 3R campaign – reduce, reuse, recycle.

Continuing the green agenda, Roland Vanblaere, Founder at GreenSpray, will showcase Greenspray – an actuator which solves the negative effects of an aerosol’s compressed gas system. Alexander Hinterkopf, Managing Director at Hinterkopf, will then consider how 2017 was ‘the breakthrough year of digital printing for round hollow bodies’. With photo realistic pictures, vibrant colours, pin-sharp text all available on small production runs, he will explain how this has opened up a wealth of new opportunities for brands large and small.
