Donations benefited more than 80 charities
LAS VEGAS, NV - From Dec. 1-8, Overnight Prints, a web-to-print provider, hosted its second annual holiday toy drive. The online print provider collected children’s toys and gift cards at its Las Vegas pickup location to benefit needy families of HELP of Southern Nevada and other charities.
As part of the 19th Annual 98.5 KLUC Toy Drive hosted by The Chet Buchanan Show, Overnight Prints helped contribute to this year’s tally of 8,109 bicycles and $455,550 in cash and gift card donations from businesses, schools, civic organizations and individual donors. This year’s efforts topped the 2016 record of 6,700 bicycles and over $440,000 in cash donations.
The annual toy drive ran from Nov. 30 to Dec. 11 and collected new, unwrapped toys and bicycles to benefit more than 80 charities.
“This year’s toy drive would not have been so successful without the benevolence of Overnight Prints customers and employees,” said Janell Awong, brand manager, Overnight Prints. “We’d like to thank all those who came together to donate to families in need.”
During those 12 days, radio host Chet Buchanan lived atop the “Big Thirty Foot Scaffold” in the parking lot of NV Energy to encourage donation drop-offs 24 hours a day. What’s known as the “Sea of Bikes” given during the toy drive filled 32 semi-trailer trucks provided by Coca-Cola. Celebrity appearances at the toy drive included comedian Terry Fator, and magicians Criss Angel and Farrell Dillon.
