Press release from the issuing company
The completion of a major investment programme by Trelleborg’s printing solutions operation at its European factory in Mirambeau, France, has led to important benefits for flexo printers throughout Latin America. The plant manufactures the industry-leading Axcyl range of flexo sleeves and the recent spend in new oven, grinder and sleeve indexing facilities has significantly reduced lead times of these products.
“A great deal of work has been done during the last two years to increase production capacity at the site in France and this has resulted in a faster turnaround of flexo sleeves,” says Glenda Chiquillo, Axcyl Support for Latin America. “This has been helped by improvements to the entire operating structure, which have included the addition of skilled employees and the appointment of new senior personnel.
“The flexo sector is extremely important to Trelleborg and the Latin American market has grown consistently year-on-year. The research and development department at Trelleborg Printing Solutions’ headquarters in Italy employs several experts in this field, who have the task of pushing forward the boundaries of what can be achieved on a flexo press.
“This dedication has resulted in the Axcyl brand being recognized around the world as a leader in flexo sleeves, providing the most durable and stable options available. Axcyl is endorsed not only by printers who use the products, but also by OEMs and the flexo press manufacturers themselves.”
Trelleborg’s unique Axcyl carbon fiber bridge sleeves offer an unrivalled combination of rigidity, lightness and stability, which has made them extremely popular. The investment in France has resulted in Axcyl’s unique Fast Track service, which was launched at Labelexpo in 2015, becoming fully operational. This reliable service offers reduced lead times from receipt of order, on a first come basis, which has proved invaluable to many customers in both the narrow and wide web sectors.
“Modern flexo presses incorporate highly sophisticated technology and consumables have to match this level of sophistication if the printer is to achieve the press’s full potential,” says Glenda Chiquillo. “Today, suppliers have to be true partners, providing expertise in how to choose and implement the most effective solution for any particular situation.
“Trelleborg is about to expand its extensive range even further via strategic partnerships and we look forward to welcoming visitors to Andinapack 2017 on to our stand to explain how they can take advantage of these new product lines. We will have experts available during the exhibition, providing advice and information to printers about how we can help to improve the performance of their flexo presses.”
