Press release from the issuing company
Midlothian, TX – This year marks the 60th anniversary for Forms Manufacturers Inc. (FMI), one of the leading manufacturers of business forms and related printed products in the Midwest. FMI continues to provide independent distributors and other resellers top-quality products, as it has since it was founded in 1957.
Norman Van Hooser, Homer Combs and Doyle Hyat started the company in Girard, KS, under the name VA-CO-HY. After already moving to a larger facility once, the business continued to expand. As a result, a new building at the current location was built in 1962. The company was sold in 1969 to Livingston Oil, and the name was changed to LVO. In 1972, Jim Orwig, the President at that time, purchased LVO and changed the name to Forms Manufacturers Inc. (FMI). In 1974, the company’s building was extended to 74,000 square-feet to accommodate the continued growth of the business. The company was purchased in 1999 by Sovereign Business Forms and remained a subsidiary for 15 years.
In June 2014, Ennis, Inc. (NYSE: EBF) purchased FMI. The company is now part of the Ennis network, which consists of more than 50 locations, including 11 Ennis-named facilities and 38 unique brands, throughout the United States.
The Ennis family of companies congratulates FMI on this impressive milestone. For more information about FMI, call them at 800.835.0614, visit ennis.com or call the Ennis HOTLine at 800.972.1069.
