DIS Direct Bids a Fond Farewell to Retiring Executive, Howard Pierce

Press release from the issuing company

Itasca, Illinois – DIS Direct announces that Howard Pierce, Vice President of Support Services, has elected to retire on September 29th, after decades of dedicated work.

“It is with personal regret, but the warmest wishes that I announce Howard’s retirement”, said Frank Liedtke, CEO of DIS Direct. “Howard has been a trusted and invaluable employee and friend since he first started work here in 1998. He is regarded as a company institution and his expertise is well known in the industry. We are indebted to his hard work and vision, which has contributed to the success of the company. He will be greatly missed by us all.”

Howard first began his career at a small printing company in 1968.  After some time in the military and in school, he joined Frank Liedtke in his family’s business in 1977.  Throughout the years, although there were some gaps, Howard and Frank always seemed to be working together.  Howard eventually joined DIS as an estimator/CSR and has since held just about every position in the company at one time or another.

A farewell party was held at DIS for Howard so that colleagues and co-workers could wish him well in retirement, and to celebrate his achievements. “I can’t say I’ll miss getting up before dawn for a 5:30 press check on a cold Chicago morning,” laughed Howard when asked about his feelings at retirement, “but I will miss the wonderful people that I have met over the years. I plan on traveling and spending more time with my grandchildren, and maybe getting in some time to relax.”
