Flexographic press manufacturer broadens its solutions for the flexible packaging industry
GREEN BAY, Wis. - Paper Converting Machine Company (PCMC)—a division of Barry-Wehmiller and a leading supplier of high-performance converting machinery for the tissue, nonwovens and package-printing industries worldwide—has recently grown through its acquisition of Graphbury Machines, LLC, of Green Bay. With the addition of this machinery manufacturer and engineering-services provider for the flexible packaging industry, PCMC will expand its innovative offerings for flexographic printers.
“We are extremely excited to welcome the Graphbury team to the PCMC family,” said Steve Kemp, PCMC President. “The talent and knowledge that Graphbury brings will strengthen our ability to provide value to our existing customers, while remaining responsive to emerging market technologies.”
Graphbury has developed a wide range of products that improve flexographic printers’ production and performance. Most notably, its Anilox Laser Washing Machine offers customers the ability to clean ceramic and chrome Anilox rolls of any line screen without causing surface wear. The laser technology works on all kinds of inks, and vaporizes deposited particles inside of the cells with an unprecedented efficiency.
“This acquisition marks the beginning of a new era for PCMC in providing high-performance, innovative solutions,” said Rodney Pennings, PCMC Printing, Coating and Laminating Sales Director. “We are looking forward to collaborating and creating additional value for customers.”
Since 1987, when Barry-Wehmiller began its acquisition strategy, the privately held firm, headquartered in St. Louis, has experienced significant growth, with more than 11,000 team members in 100-plus locations worldwide, and revenues of $2.8 billion. Graphbury Machines is the company’s 90th acquisition.
“We are pleased to share our unique culture of care and people-centric leadership practices with Graphbury Machines,” said Bob Chapman, Barry-Wehmiller Chairman and CEO. “Our partnership will enhance PCMC’s offerings for the flexible packaging industry and continue to strengthen our customers’ trust.”
