Press release from the issuing company

Industry leading inkjet technology offers IMS, Inc. enhanced quality, flexibility, and customization

MELVILLE, N.Y. - Canon Solutions America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc. today announced that IMS, Inc., a nationally recognized brand and integrated service provider of print, mail, and digital delivery services, recently installed an Océ VarioPrint i300 in its continued quest to transition to white-paper-in, full-color-out high-volume production inkjet output. The installation is evidence of Canon Solutions America's continuously expanding national footprint, specifically within the inkjet space, and the company's growing support to an increasing number of leading print service providers in upstate New York.

Starting as a pioneer in the presort mail industry, IMS, Inc. has since expanded its operations and transformed into one of the most recognized names in transactional document delivery throughout the United States and Canada. Founded in 1986, by W. Lee Vanderpool, Jr., IMS, Inc. is proud of its ability to provide excellent service to a large and diverse clientele that today includes many of the top-tier performers in financial services, insurance, credit unions, community banks, healthcare and collections (ARM). IMS, Inc.'s promise to continuously invest in cutting-edge technology, unmatched capability, cost-efficiency, and the security of its customers' data led them to Canon Solutions America.

By acquiring the Océ VarioPrint i300, IMS, Inc. will continue to migrate more of its client base to one-to-one messaging that will add value to their customers' documents with customized full-color messaging at a higher rate of speed and higher volumes. IMS, Inc. prides itself in being able to exceed tight SLAs; therefore, the ability to implement an inkjet press that provides additional flexibility and improved quality by helping reduce the need for preprinted forms increased the company's eagerness to acquire the Océ VarioPrint i300. Canon Solutions America's goal is to provide an industry-leading solution at an excellent value that will help drive the results that clients want. IMS, Inc. utilizes customer data to drive communications that will help to enhance their business, drive additional revenue, increase brand recognition, on both the electronic and print side, through dynamic imagery and highlighted wording printed on both full color digital and inkjet technology.

"Over the years, our relationship with Canon Solutions America has transformed into a trusted partnership with our needs clearly being understood and given priority, said John D. Mashia, Jr., President and Chief Operating Officer at IMS, Inc. "They understand that in order for us to be successful we must have flexibility in a vendor partnership and experience optimal uptime on our equipment.

It was only natural for us to invest in another Canon press, especially with the excellent track record of the Océ VarioPrint i300."

With the i300, IMS, Inc. looks forward to further consolidating sheet-fed black and white, highlight color, and full color digital workflows into production inkjet presses allowing them to handle new and more diverse applications.  IMS, Inc. is a data driven business intent on working closely with its customer base to analyze their data and create proper messaging that will add value to their business. The company's goal is to touch all variables to ensure customers are communicating relevantly. The i300 is going to allow the company to continue to support that goal by providing a complete sheet-fed, inkjet white-paper-in, full-color-out workflow in a high volume and capacity with its ability to draw from multiple paper sources, automatic duplexing, and in-line connectivity to finishing equipment.

"We take great pride in offering our customers the most advanced and dynamic technology that will help companies achieve their goals and improve daily print efforts," said Francis A. McMahon, senior vice president, Marketing, Production Print Solutions, Canon Solutions America. "As the digital color print space continues to expand, we will pay close attention to our customers' needs to ensure they receive the necessary technology to remain competitive in the marketplace and offer their customers enhanced value proposition."

Aside from the value color has brought to IMS, Inc.'s dynamic customer base, the company pursued Canon's leading inkjet press due to its ability to drive quality output at a high rated speed, as well as handle high volumes during peak times of the month. After evaluating various inkjet possibilities, IMS, Inc. recognized that the Océ VarioPrint i300 was the best choice for IMS, Inc. based on the VarioPrint i300's reputation in the industry, uptime, quality, speed and ability to handle a diverse portfolio of applications. IMS, Inc. prioritized turnaround time, quality, and a press capable of handling substantial volume to drive their decision. It has since demonstrated that it is in fact able to support significant transactional volume delivered by IMS each day and during peak periods. "IMS Inc. is always looking to invest in market leading technology, added Mashia. The acquisition of the Océ VarioPrint i300 is a continued opportunity to provide our clients with a higher level service while enhancing their targeted communication and helping them drive additional revenue."
