Information-packed event provides latest information about new innovative postal products, services and tools for business mailers
ATLANTA, GA - DATAMATX, a national outsourcing provider and leader in the distribution of critical business communications and payment services, hosted the USPS Capital Metro’s Area Inspiring Mail (AIM) focus group meeting at its Atlanta headquarters on August 29, 2017. The one-day event was designed to be an educational platform for sharinginformation about postal products, services and tools that support business mailers in growing their business, as well as improving mail quality and adding additional value to the mail.
The sessions covered current offerings and updates from the United States Postal Service (USPS) with speakers from different areas of expertise from the USPS. Karen Key, director of shipping products and services, discussed what to expect from several new innovations, specifically Informed Delivery, a feature that provides scanned images of the mail before it is delivered. Kevin Bray, USPS program manager, mail and package information systems, presented an update on Informed Visibility & Expected Delivery, a data-rich powerhouse for mail visibility that tracks mail pieces (letters and flats), bundles, handling units and containers in one consolidated system.
Additionally, Pritha Mehra, vice president, mail entry and payment technology, discussed changes on the horizon for the Mailer-Scorecard dashboard that scores mailers on how well or poorly they are performing when processing mailings using USPS programs and Move Update requirements. Finally, updates on the Postmaster General's Mailers' Technical Advisory Committee (MTAC), a venue for the USPS to share technical information with mailers, was shared by Wanda Senne, MTAC industry vice chair and Dale Kennedy, manager of industry engagement strategy at the USPS.
