Singapore’s KHL First to Implement HP PrintOS Site Flow and Taopix Integration

Press release from the issuing company

KHL Printing Co has become the first customer of HP and Taopix to implement the new integration between HP PrintOS Site Flow and Taopix photo commerce platform.

Established in 1978, KHL Printing Co Pte Ltd is one of the largest printing companies in South East Asia. With its head office located in Loyang in the eastern suburb of Singapore, KHL employs more than 1000 employees at six production sites across two countries, generating an annual group turnover of S$200 million.

The company currently offers a choice of themed photo books from its web store, photogenie.com, and is planning to expand the product range and increase sales.

“We’re gearing up for an increase in orders and needed to streamline our production processes” says KHL Pre Press Manager Gregory Tan “We are always looking at ways of automating in every area of the business and when HP launched PrintOS Site Flow last year, we knew immediately that it would help us improve our turnaround times and save labour.”

HP PrintOS Site Flow manages production for print service providers fulfilling hundreds to thousands of orders. Site Flow automates the entire production, from order submission through batching, scheduling, prepress, shop floor management of both printing and finishing devices and all the way to assembly and shipping, so printers can focus on capturing and delivering new business with speed, no development efforts, high flexibility and full visibility. PrintOS Site Flow also enables automatic job status updates that inform customers of the progress of their orders.

KHL’s decision to upgrade to HP PrintOS came as a response to the need to handle all of the company’s digital work and automate Taopix production. The two platforms have been working brilliantly together, simplifying processes, from initial job submission all the way through to the automation of customer emails.

KHL has been allowed to automate the imposition of jobs, streamlining processes that enable press room staff to assist in other areas of the business.
Using both Taopix and HP PrintOS Site Flow, KHL will expand their offerings from photo books to more products such as canvases, calendars and a range of simple products that can be ordered from customers’ Smartphones. They are confident about their future being geared up for high volumes and expect their four HP Indigo presses to be kept busy for a long time.

Steffen Haaga, Commercial Director at Taopix adds “We’re delighted to have our first live integration up and running so smoothly.  It’s encouraging to learn that our integration to HP PrintOS Site Flow is already delivering increased efficiency for KHL. We’re always looking at ways of improving our customer’s bottom lines, whether it’s through automation or ways of selling more, and the guys at KHL have done a great job in making this happen. With nearly 70% of our customer base committed to HP Indigo technology, we’re looking forward to helping many more customers make the transition to HP PrintOS.”
