Luxury Packaging Awards event welcomes Creative Edge Software as category sponsor

Press release from the issuing company

iC3D is ‘perfect fit’ for prestige occasion showcasing premium packaging designs

Creative Edge Software, developer of the award-winning iC3D packaging design software, has signed up to be a key category sponsor of the Luxury Packaging Awards taking place in London (UK) on 13thSeptember this year. The development signifies the growing stature of iC3D within the luxury sector and highlights recent iC3D technology advances which have driven its uptake for high-end packaging applications.

“This is significant for us at Creative Edge Software as it reflects the thousands of hours of research and programming which have brought us to this point,” comments Nick Gilmore, CEO of Creative Edge Software. “From the beginning, iC3D was recognised by designers and brands for its versatility as an all-in-one solution that could digitally prototype virtually any type of package, but the luxury design space wanted even more. Our Ray Tracing development was groundbreaking, and rapid progress since then has led to a whole raft of advanced features such as Dynamic Backgrounds which lets you merge 2D images with 3D content for in-store visualisation. Also, Light Map Editor which re-creates photographic studios and real environments. Together these features make iC3D equally powerful for visualising – with photorealistic precision – the high-end design treatments used in luxury packaging.”

Applying Ray Tracing to simulate nuances of light and colour, Creative Edge Software has developed capabilities to enable accurate and realistic visualisation of complex packaging designs, such as specialty closures and security seals, matte and metallic inks, holographic and pigment foils, and even liquid-fill effects. The latest iC3D version v4.1 software now also includes Bump Displacement, which allows designers to create and visualise unique, 3D shapes and surfaces, such as for selective embossing/debossing on glass, plastics, cartons and labels.  As with all iC3D mockups, the 3D results can be scrutinized from all angles by brand owners, production engineers and other stakeholders using iC3D Opsis via any web browser on smartphone, tablet or computer.

For the Awards ceremony at the Grosvenor Hotel, Creative Edge Software is sponsoring the category ‘Luxury Drinks – presentation case, carton, sleeve or tube’ which, according to Gilmore, is much in keeping with the unique multi-application aspect of iC3D software. “It reflects the all-encompassing, multi-faceted requirements of luxury brand design today – all of which can be handled in iC3D, of course, streamlining the process for even the most sophisticated campaigns.”

Josh Brooks, publisher of Packaging News, which organises the Luxury Packaging Awards, comments, “Since its launch in 2014, the international luxury packaging sector – from brands and design agencies to manufacturers and materials suppliers – has really taken this event to its heart, relishing the opportunity to showcase their most creative, innovative and technically demanding packaging designs of the last year. With its growing focus on the luxury packaging sector and a compelling software solution that is ideal for developers and designers working in the sector, iC3D is a perfect fit for this event and we’re very pleased to welcome them aboard for what promises to be our best Luxury Packaging Awards yet.”
