Press release from the issuing company
Woodley, Berkshire - Amayse, the worldwide market leader in 3D signage for televised sporting events and a leading supplier in both venue and event branding and large-format signage for indoor and outdoor use, recently installed impressive exterior window graphics at Twickenham Stadium ahead of Harlequins’ Big Game 9.
Sponsored by IG, Harlequins’ Big Game has become a firm fixture in the Aviva Premiership calendar for all rugby supporters. Once a year, the club swaps its usual venue – The Stoop – for Twickenham Stadium, the home of English rugby, to host a festive fixture like no other. Last year’s match took place on 27th December 2016 against Gloucester Rugby Football Club, with more than 70,000 people attending the family-focused event which raised valuable funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
Prior to the event taking place, Amayse was charged with producing and installing window graphics on the exterior windows of Twickenham Stadium to help promote the match. These were printed using a VUTEk GS3250r 3.2m-wide UV roll-to-roll printer onto CLEAR FOCUS One Way Vision™ BudgetVue film, which allows stunning graphics on one side, and a clear, unobstructed view from the other. The film was purchased from the UK’s leading independent supplier of digital print technology and materials, CMYUK.
Suitable for virtually all glass surfaces, CLEAR FOCUS One Way Vision™ films offer the perfect window-graphics media for vehicle and building wraps, POP, retail and commercial window signage, corporate identity, architectural enhancement and much more. The BudgetVue range used by Amayse for the Harlequins’ Big Game is ideal for short-term applications, as it has a lifetime of up to one year, with 3-months clean removability guaranteed.
The printed graphics were installed in a few hours by a specialist team – experienced in working at height – the day prior to the match. The graphics were clearly visible to the fans attending the game, as well as to the competing clubs as they were situated right above the players’ entrance. These graphics were hugely valuable to the event sponsor and play a big part in enhancing the event atmosphere.
The graphics on this occasion were cleanly removed the following week. However, when Twickenham is hosting another fixture the following day, Amayse can remove and re-install new graphics overnight.
On the project, Greg Craigen, Managing Director at Amayse, comments: “Our installers commented that it was the best one way vision film that they have worked with, which is great news!”
With regards to working with CMYUK, Greg Craigen adds: “CMYUK are always very accommodating and ensure that any last-minute orders for product are fulfilled, which can often be the case when working in events.”
Mick Crook, Commercial Director at CMYUK, adds: “The graphics produced by Amayse are amazing and the clear focus 80/20 product gives maximum colour punch due to the 80% print area, which is perfect for large event graphics at Twickenham. At CMYUK we constantly strive to offer new and exciting materials, and will have more unique materials launching very soon.”
