Avery Dennison Digital Media Output Warranted Up to Five Years When Created with Epson SureColor S-Series and UltraChrome GS3 Solvent Ink
Epson today announced that Avery Dennison North America has issued the ICS Performance Guarantee for graphics printed with Epson UltraChrome® GS3 ink on the Epson SureColor® S-Series solvent inkjet printers, including the SureColor S40600, S60600 and S80600. Graphic output printed on Avery Dennison films using Epson solvent technology qualifies for the Avery Dennison ICS Performance Guarantee, an up to five-year warranty to provide customers with peace of mind.
“The Epson SureColor S-Series were designed to provide outstanding quality, durability and reliability for print shops of any size; plus, unique solvent ink chemistry allows for same day turnaround, increasing overall shop productivity,” said Matt McCausland, product manager, Professional Imaging, Epson America, Inc. “The Avery Dennison ICS Performance Guarantee offers print service providers another level of assurance in their graphic output.”
The Avery Dennison ICS Performance Guarantee combines Avery Dennison films with qualified components to produce graphic output that promises to provide superior performance. Reflecting joint developmental work between Avery Dennison and Epson America, qualified output with the Epson SureColor S-Series printers and Epson UltraChrome GS3 solvent inks has withstood rigorous scientific testing and met a very stringent set of durability and physical performance specifications to achieve ICS Performance Guarantee status.
“We are happy we were able to successfully work with Epson to provide the ICS Warranty as an option for graphics printed with Epson inks on an Epson printer,” said Paul Roba, OEM Relationship Manager, Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions. “When we work together on our solutions, we better serve our customers and develop products and service offerings with more accurate durability guidelines.”
In addition, Avery Dennison conducted tests with Epson inks that would determine best practices for using overlaminates on printed graphics. The industry standard for solvent printers has been to allow 24 hours for solvent outgassing before laminating printed vinyl film. Avery Dennison found that the necessary outgassing period for the Epson UltraChrome GS3 inks is six hours, a 75 percent reduction in wait time for lamination when properly ventilated.
