PARSIPPANY, N.J., U.S.A. – Four Sun Chemical employees have been honored with the 2017 Pioneer Award from the National Association of Print Ink Manufacturers (NAPIM) during the 2017 NAPIM Spring Convention held on March 10-13 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Recognized as one of the most prestigious awards in the ink manufacturing industry, the Pioneer Award was presented to Sun Chemical’s Jim Felsberg, Jack Powers, Luigi Ribaudo and Ami Youhana.
The Pioneer Award honors those who have given at least 25 years of service to the printing ink industry through their work with one or several printing ink companies or suppliers, in addition to service work with ink associations, production clubs and other committees. NAPIM also considers technical contributions in the areas of laboratory, engineering, production or product development.
“At Sun Chemical, we’ve been blessed to have a long legacy of innovators who have elevated not only our offerings and capabilities to customers, but have raised the standard for ink manufacturing across the whole industry,” said Charles Murray, President of North American Inks, Sun Chemical. “Jim, Jack, Luigi and Ami are all worthy recipients of this award and we’re thrilled that NAPIM recognized their many achievements.”
Currently a field marketing manager at Sun Chemical, Jim Felsberg has held a variety of technical and management positions. He has made significant technical and business contributions to the printing ink industry during his 30-year career, and has shared his knowledge of the industry with colleagues and peers. Felsberg participates in many panels on solvent-based inks and flexographic printing, and is a frequent speaker at industry tradeshows and events.
With over 40 years of experience within the industry, Jack Powers currently works as a vice president of sales at Sun Chemical. Powers’ understanding of Sun Chemical’s technology and how it contributes to the establishment of strong customer relationships has been key in securing and retaining large and important customers for Sun Chemical.
As a purchasing manager at Sun Chemical, Luigi Ribaudo brings 28 years of experience in the industry. Ribaudo has been dedicated to the growth of the ink industry throughout his career, and is the recipient of several prestigious awards for his work, including the CPIPC President’s Award in 2010 and 2012 and the Ink Person of the Year Award in 2015.
Ami Youhana joined Sun Chemical in 1996, but has been involved in the ink industry for over 42 years. Currently serving as the technical manager of sheetfed inks, Youhana’s experience and formulation knowledge has made him a critical part of the success of Sun Chemical’s conventional sheetfed product portfolio. He has established a great network within the global sheetfed community, and continues to deliver new high quality products to ink customers.
