Smithers Apex to host printed electronics roundtable on car of the future at LOPEC

Leatherhead, UK – Smithers Apex, which provides market research, publications, strategic and technical consulting to niche, emerging, and high-growth industries, has announced its Head of Publishing, Dan Rogers will be moderating the LOPEC  roundtable, which will be discussing the opportunities and challenges for printed and organic electronics in automotives. 

Panelists from both the printed and organic electronics value chain, and representing the automotive industry, will provide technology and market perspectives on what the future looks like for printed and organic electronics in this exciting commercial sector, and how they will apply to the vehicles of tomorrow. The 45-minute panel taking place on March discussion will address the key talking points, and will also be open to questions from the floor.

The automotive industry is undergoing significant change today, from the impact of electric and hybrid vehicles, to the emergence and development of autonomous vehicles. For instance, Smithers Apex forecasts the autonomous vehicles market will grow from a very small base in 2016, to 17.5 million vehicles sold globally by 2026.

There are also major changes being made in the design of vehicles, from reducing bulk and weight, to creating new designs and interfaces in vehicle interiors. The roundtable will discuss these trends, and the impact they will have from both automotive and printed electronics industry perspectives.
