Long-standing customer decides once again for a manroland web systems web offset press

Press release from the issuing company

The printing house with its’ almost 100 employees, is the largest subdivision in the Bonifatius GmbH in Paderborn, which also comprises of a Publishing House, Bookshops and a Church Newspaper. Now the company is investing almost 10 million euros in a modernisation process. As part of this, Bonifatius have once again decided on a ROTOMAN DirectDrive Press from manroland web systems.

The new ROTOMAN DirectDrive, which will be commissioned in the middle of 2017, will replace an older, 16 page Press, which was also manufactured by the Printing Press producers from Augsburg. The investment highlights the trust placed in the quality and reliability of the products from the worldwide market leader in the area of web offset presses. The ROTOMAN DirectDrive from manroland web systems addresses demanding 16 pages commercial printing in the Premium Segment of Publications and Advertising.  The decision for this Press demonstrates accordingly, not only the strong trust that Bonifatius places on the future of the printed product, but also, for their own customers, that a maximum in quality and reliability is guaranteed when printing their products.

Flexible and efficient
The ROTOMAN DirectDrive comprising four printing units with a cylinder circumference of 630 mm, shows its performance capabilities through its speed of up to 65,000 cylinder revolutions per hour. The 16 page printing system enables highly efficient and very flexible production possibilities for the users in a very dynamic market environment. Additionally the Bonifatius ROTOMAN DirectDrive is equipped with (amongst others) an extra former to provide even more production possibilities. The machine also boasts exceptional automation functions, such as AutoJobChange for time optimised, fully automatic production changes, as well as the manroland web systems Inline Control System IDC for ink density control with photo spectral measurements, or the dynamic cut-off register control ICCd.  Equipping the ROTOMAN DirectDrive with the manroland ControlCenter, the most modern operator concept on the web offset Press market, completes the full automation process. These technologies are exactly what ensure the best preconditions for a high level of production efficiency, especially in short run productions..

Investment in the future
Bonifatius is sending a clear signal for the future of high quality magazine printing, with this investment. “We are convinced of our business model and therefore we are investing in the expansion of our Printing House and as a result in the development of digital media products. Naturally the most innovative technology available is part and parcel of this process for us,” is how Bonifatius’ Managing Director Rolf Pitsch explains the future oriented purchase decision, and Josef Aumiller, Area Sales Manager for manroland web systems continues, “We are very proud of the trust that Bonifatius has placed in us and are looking forward to successfully continuing the long-standing partnership. The decision for innovative manroland technology, enables us to make a significant contribution towards making sure the Bonifatius GmbH is optimally equipped for the future, in the highly competitive Printing market.”
