Screen Americas' Falcone to Head up its Label and Packaging Efforts in the Midwest

Press release from the issuing company

ROLLING MEADOWS, Illinois. — With the upper Midwest emerging as a hub for US label printing and converting companies looking to capture increasing chunks of business within the burgeoning packaging and label market, Screen Americas has turned to one of its veteran inkjet experts to help direct the company’s market growth in that segment.

“We are excited to announce, Joseph Falcone, Screen Regional Sales Manager, will be leading Screen’s efforts to expand our success among label printing and production operations looking to attract business that our inkjet technology is uniquely qualified to generate,” said Ken Ingram, Vice President Sales and Marketing at Screen Americas. “We see the upper Midwest as a key geography for this production trend.”

“The demand for high-quality, fast turnaround, short-to-medium run length capabilities in the label market, is driving new growth potential for label converters in the Midwest and across the US,” Falcone said. “Consumer goods companies whose product mixes are configured to specifically targeted customer segments, are stimulating the push for inkjet label solutions. And Screen is leading the way with its Truepress Jet L350UV inkjet label printer to serve those needs that are typically outside the scope of Flexo production.”

The Screen Truepress Jet L350UV inkjet label solution produces photo-realistic quality at a top speed of 173.3 square feet per minute. Delivering the smoothest gradations and sharpest detail with the thinnest ink laydown of any inkjet label devices, has label converters taking notice. Its white ink capabilities makes beverage, food and cosmetic labels stand out when contrasted with conventional label production.

Accommodating web widths up to 13.7 inches in a wide range of coated and uncoated substrates including metallic foil, transparent film and poly materials, puts the Truepress Jet L350UV in position to become the go-to inkjet solution for label converters.

Single-pass, grayscale piezo printheads emit Screen’s vibrant, high-definition CMYK+white UV inks with a minimum droplet size of 3 picoliters. This tiny droplet size combines with printing resolutions of 600 x 600 dpi to create sharp, well-defined images and text.

“This unique technology is ideally suited to protection printing and security labels production in which incredibly fine character details, ghosted images and similar security characteristics are effortlessly printed. This is not something that Flexo or Gravure can achieve in such a fast and cost efficient manner,” Falcone explained.

“The Screen Truepress Jet L350UV is easy to use, delivers a remarkably high-uptime performance and is a sound technology for any label converter looking to expand their business,” Falcone added.

Falcone got his industry start in pre-press. His scope of professional experience and flexibility has given him a command of the market that makes him a true ally to printing companies. Before joining Screen Americas in 2015, Falcone spent 13 years developing the digital printing solutions client base for another major equipment maker. He has worked in sales-related positions at other companies in the graphic communications industry and had also served as president of a prepress service bureau that utilized Screen technology at the time.

“Screen has always projected a strong pipeline of innovation. I'm happy to participate in that and to provide and interpret that innovation toward improving label converters’ bottom lines,” Falcone said.
