McBattas Packaging and Printing Spurs Growth after Installing the Canon imagePRESS C10000VP

Press release from the issuing company

Latest installation adds depth to the company's extensive print fleet

MELVILLE, N.Y. - Canon Solutions America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., today announced that McBattas Packaging and Printing is the first company in the state of Nebraska to install the Canon imagePRESS C10000VP Color Digital Press. With this pivotal installation, McBattas is positioned to highlight its short-run, thick stock capabilities for both printing and packaging needs.

As a family-owned company, McBattas has a long-standing commitment to both the community and its customers that is supported by a wide range of services to help its vast customer base find the right solutions for all their packaging and printing needs. With these services that include innovative packaging, on-demand printing, product development, creative services, fulfillment, mailing, and much more, the Fairbury, NE-based company provides its customers with a one-stop solution. Additionally, the progressive leader continues to excel in pushing the packaging space forward with an innovative customer-first approach that utilizes its expertise in commercial digital printing to take projects from design and printing to a final packaged product.

A leader in the packaging industry since 1990, McBattas puts an equally dedicated emphasis on constantly evolving its expansive print fleet to support jobs of all sizes. Most recently, the company reconfirmed this commitment to excellence with the addition of new state-of-the-art Canon equipment to help bolster its dynamic range of services for a client base that extends across the country.

"Digital packaging is undoubtedly on the rise, and to stay at the forefront of its growth, we knew the time was now to update our equipment and acquire the Canon imagePRESS C10000VP," said Fred Arnold, owner and president of McBattas. "This acquisition cements our place as an industry leader in this space; and the technology behind the digital press will allow us to grow our short-run, print-on-demand, and variable data capabilities."

McBattas' acquisition of the Canon imagePRESS C1000VP is not the first time the company has worked with Canon Solutions America. Looking for more reliability in its production environment, McBattas previously turned to its now frequent collaborator for a product that could increase speed, color output, and overall efficiency. Determining that the Canon imagePRESS C700 Color Digital Press was the answer, McBattas now operates with three imagePRESS machines in total, and remarks that their turnaround time, competitive pricing, and productivity are spurring growth for the respected packaging leader.

"The Canon imagePRESS products are truly workhorse machines that allow us to grow our solutions," confirmed Carole Sprunk, business development manager at McBattas Packaging and Printing. "With the C10000 specifically, we are using it for full packaging capabilities and producing significantly large volumes of work for some of our largest customers. Similarly, its quality meets any print standard for packaging that is currently offered, and provides a more affordable option for companies like ours to get into short-run digital packaging."

With offset-like, vibrant, and stable quality, the Canon imagePRESS C10000VP can be an ideal option for commercial printers, in-plants, production hubs, direct mail and transaction print service providers looking to produce a broader range of applications in shorter turnaround times. Adding further depth to its features, the imagePRESSC10000VP Color Digital Press incorporates innovative technologies which allow it to run up to 100 letter-size images per minute on uncoated stocks ranging from 60-350 gsm and coated stocks ranging from 70-350 gsm.

As a truly unique packaging and printing organization – and with increasingly dynamic capabilities – McBattas looks forward to using some of Canon's latest digital print technologies to continue producing work for some of the largest automotive companies in the country, among other prestigious customers.

"It's always rewarding to see forward-thinking companies like McBattas pushing our equipment and their capabilities to a new place," said Tracie Sokol, vice president, Marketing, Enterprise Services and Solutions. "McBattas continues to defy standards originally associated with the Canon imagePRESS C10000, and I am sure they will continue to help us push the technology forward for years to come."
