Press release from the issuing company

Glen Arm, Maryland - SUN Automation Group®, a leading global provider of innovative equipment to the corrugated industry, is pleased to announce it has hired Robert Casella as Capital and International Projects Manager. Casella is a proven leader in sales, service, engineering and productivity. Having spent the last 20 years in the corrugated industry, he is well equipped to meet the demands of customers locally and abroad.

“Robert’s commitment to customer service, as well as his ability to identify and deliver solutions that benefit the box plant, align very well with the new leadership vision at SUN,” Says Greg Jones,  Director of Sales and Marketing, SUN. “We are very excited about the opportunity to work with Rob and the impact he will have for our customers globally.”

Casella spent over 15 years in the packaging industry with Ward Machinery and MarquipWardUnited. Prior to relocating to Maryland, he spent much of his career living in Asia and covering the entire territory, including Australia and New Zealand. His experience in the oceanic regions and working on Ward machinery were a perfect match for SUN.

“As we look to grow our rebuild business with Ward and Langston machinery and expand our RDC’s globally, Robert’s experience and guidance will be a tremendous asset,” says Jones. “We will lean on him to guide our performance upgrades and manage rebuilds.”

In addition to his packaging background, Casella spent over 10 years in US Navy Submarine Service, finishing his career as First Lieutenant on the U.S.S. Annapolis. He also studied at the U.S. Navy Mechatronics Engineering School and has a BSE from the U.S. Navy Electronic and Engineering School.

“Whether in the Navy or packaging industry, I’ve leveraged my electrical and mechanical capabilities to solve problems,” says Casella. “I’m driven by my dedication to customer service and support and am grateful for the opportunity to work for SUN and continue to expand the Capital and International Projects business.”
