Press release from the issuing company

The Academy is honored to welcome Ross Balfour, Jacek Stencel and Greg Kitson

Fairfax, Virginia - Established in 1973 by the Board of Directors of the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association, the Academy of Screen and Digital Printing Technologies (ASDPT) recognizes individuals who have contributed to the technical growth and/or advancement of the screen and digital printing industry. At the recent 2016 SGIA Expo last month, the ASDPT inducted three new members. New members are chosen for their high level of industry expertise, demonstrated ability in their field, and willingness to better the imaging community. The ASDPT welcomes:

Ross Balfour
Ross Balfour is presently Global Technical and R&D Director at Saati Chemicals, a division of Saati SpA., and is based at the Company's North American headquarters in South Carolina. Prior to joining Saati he spent ten years working for Autotype in the UK as R&D Manager. Ross has contributed to many advances in the development of stencil materials and screen making chemicals over his 30-plus year involvement in this field, as well as sharing this knowledge through technical articles and seminars.

Jacek Stencel
Jacek Stencel has been involved with the printing industry for close to 30 years. Though he started his experience with general printing, he has chosen screen printing as the leading technology for his company founded in 1992. The name of his company is PASJA (means: passion) and perfectly describes the emotions and engagement he puts into his professional and personal life. Thanks to his creativity and a perfect understanding of the screen printing process he has created an innovative and reliable screen printing house in Poland focused on special-effects printing.

PASJA has successfully entered their prints into many national and international competitions recognizing this level of the work. Now they are working on some printed electronics projects as well as implementing industrial print standards to get new markets for the future.

In 2005, Stencel became the president of Polish Screen and Digital Printing Association, a member of FESPA, and he holds this position today.  After hours Jacek is a keen golfer, a sailor, a skier and a guitar player and all those hobbies helps him to recharge his “batteries” quickly and remain in full power for a long time. He loves to travel around the world and meet new people to get inspirations and new horizons for his life and business.

Greg Kitson
Greg Kitson is the founder & President of Mind’s Eye Graphics, Inc. of Decatur, IN, founded in 1978 as a back room operation of a small town family shoe store. By 1984 the one-man screenprinting operation had replaced the shoe store and hired its first employee. Since then Mind’s Eye Graphics has grown to provide custom and contract screenprinting to decorated apparel professionals around the world. Kitson and Mind’s Eye Graphics offer industry specific technical training and business consulting at their 22,000-square-feet Indiana production facility as well as at client locations. This 30 year industry veteran has been a regular contributor to industry publications and seminar presentations since 1990.
