LAS VEGAS - Mutoh America, Inc., an industry leader in wide-format printers, was recently honored with the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association's (SGIA) Product of the Year award for the ValueJet 1628X - 64 inch printer in the Solvent or Latex Ink Under 80" category, the ValueJet 1938TX - 75" direct to textile printer in the Roll-to-Roll Disperse Ink on Textilecategory and the ValueJet 1638UH - 64" UV-LED hybrid printer in both the Flatbed/Hybrid Under $100k and Roll-to-Roll UV Under 80"categories. The competition recognizes the latest equipment and supplies currently on the market that are advancing the specialty imaging industry.

"I am extremely proud of our products and the Mutoh team," said Brian Phipps, president of Mutoh America, Inc. "The SGIA Product of the Year Award receives entries from the best companies in the industry, so winning Product of the Year consecutively for the past six years is quite an achievement. I believe the award is a testimonial to the quality and state-of-the-art engineering of our ValueJet printers."

The competition judged submissions across 19 categories for output devices and 29 categories for non-output devices. Conducted during the 2016 SGIA Expo (Las Vegas, September 14-16, 2016), this year's event was one of the most challenging in recent history.

"We are really thrilled with the participation from exhibiting companies, and we even doubled the product categories to correctly acknowledge all of the possible technical accomplishments honored in this competition," said Ray Weiss, SGIA's Digital Specialist. "The award winners have been extremely enthusiastic about their wins, understanding just how competitive the field was this year."

A recap of the 2016 SGIA Expo - including the complete list of Product of the Year winners - will be available online at SGIA.org after the show ends.
