Press release from the issuing company
Mountain Lakes, New Jersey – Owners of printing and graphic service companies attending Graph Expo in Orlando will have the opportunity to get down into the weeds and learn how buyers of companies are valuing companies for acquisition. Mark Hahn, Managing Director of Graphic Arts Advisors will be presenting “Boot Camp – Valuation Workshop for Print Company Owners” at Graph Expo On Sunday, September 25th from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. At a follow up session on Monday, September 26th from 3:30 to 5:00 pm, Mitch Evans, GAA Director, will be presenting “Succession Planning – You Need to Start Now,” especially designed for owners that are beginning to think about their own future plans.
The Sunday session will answer the question buyers need to understand when an acquisition opportunity comes their way, “how are sellers valuing their printing business?” The session will include an overview of different valuation methods and which methods are appropriate in different situations. Hahn will share GAA’s “14 Keys that Drive Value” that provides a high level view of what factors buyers should look for to justify the price of an acquired business. How are "tuck-ins" valued differently than going concerns sold "where-is, as-is"? Hahn added, “the heart of the session is our “Boot Camp Crunch Time” where we really go into the details of an adjusted-EBITDA analysis. We’ll conclude with some tips for planning your own acquisition process, and all attendees will receive worksheets they can take back to use on their own.”
In Monday’s session, Evans will look at the issues and factors that surround the process of succession in the graphics industry. Using his own experience, as well as his knowledge gained from advising dozens of family-owned printing and graphic service companies, Evans noted that “we will discuss payment options, tax implications, impact on family relationships, estate planning and some recommendations for company owners. We will conclude with an interactive discussion of real-life case studies, each serving as a unique example of succession planning.”
