Former Teacher Trades Retirement for Entrepreneurship with Printing, Marketing & Shipping Franchise

Woodbury, Minn. – PostNet, the leading B2B franchise known for providing customized, business-enhancing print, marketing and shipping solutions to small businesses, is expanding its presence in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area with the opening of a new franchise location in Woodbury, Minn. this fall. The new PostNet center, owned by local resident and retired teacher Tony Hoops, will be located at 7455 Currell Boulevard.

“While working as a courier, I realized there was a business opportunity on the other side of the delivery industry,” said Hoops. “Woodbury and the surrounding areas are progressing economically and have simply outgrown the number of facilities offering back-end services businesses need. I’m excited to open a PostNet franchise to provide a reliable solution to the evident local demand for printing, marketing and shipping services in the area.”

Hoops, a Marine Corps veteran, was a school teacher dedicated to special education and literacy for 21 years prior to entering retirement in 2015. However, retirement did not last long for Hoops, who began working at a local courier service to keep busy. After nine months of delivering packages, he recognized the area’s need for shipping, printing, marketing and other business services, and found a solution in PostNet.

The new PostNet center in Woodbury will offer graphic design, full-service digital printing, direct mail, signage, document binding and finishing, and ancillary business services, like private mailbox rental and more. Unlike traditional postal and mailbox franchises, PostNet has strategic partnerships with all of the major shipping companies — UPS, FedEx, U.S. Postal Service and DHL — offering a multi-carrier selection combined with in-center professional packaging services to meet the individual shipping needs of its customers.

“Our continued expansion demonstrates the strong demand for our customized, business-enhancing services, and the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area is primed for future growth,” said Steve Greenbaum, co-founder and CEO of PostNet.

The opening of the Woodbury location this fall will mark the fifth PostNet franchise to open in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area, and the company plans to double its presence in the market over the next 3-5 years.

Today, PostNet has nearly 700 franchise locations across 10 countries.
