Press release from the issuing company
Lecta Paper are delighted to have manufactured the paper used in the production of the limited-edition, commemorative album produced to mark The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration at Windsor Castle. More than 1,500 people attended on each of the four days, and the album was presented as a gift to VIP guests at the celebration. The album was also made available to the general public through retailers.
Titled The Queen at 90, the album was produced by the official publisher for The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration, St James’s House, who appointed Graphicom as one of the printers for the project.
The Queen at 90 is the only commemorative album sanctioned and endorsed by the organisers of the Windsor Castle event. The book provides a photographic record of the Queen’s life, with an embossed cover featuring Arnold Machin’s iconic portrait of the Queen. The book also reflects on the United Kingdom’s role, relationships and influence during her lifetime.
Graphicom printed the 472pp album on 150gm Garda Satin with a silk acrylic varnish. The dustjacket was printed on 200gm Garda Satin printed CMYK with soft-touch lamination, blind embossing on the front face, with purple pigment foil on the back cover and spine.
Garda Satin is a high quality woodfree coated paper with a luxurious smooth matt surface particularly suited to the printing of prestigious books and brochures. The paper is produced by Cartiere del Garda, part of the Lecta Group, and branded Garda MattArt. In the UK it is sold exclusively by Elliott Baxter as Garda Satin and Gloss.
Neil Entwistle, Managing Director Lecta Paper UK Ltd, commented, ‘We are absolutely delighted that our paper was chosen for this highly prestigious publication. We are very impressed with the quality of print that was achieved using GardaMatt, which we regard as a market leader in its sector.’
