DES PLAINES, IL - Schawk, a part of the SGK Brand Solutions group of Matthews International Corporation, announced today that in another move to support their commitment to the North American flexographic platemaking market, it has strengthened its flexographic platemaking leadership team, naming Randall Peek, vice president, operations and Troy Johnson, vice president, client relationships. Effective immediately, both Peek and Johnson will be reporting to Tim Kiel, group managing director, Americas Region at SGK.

Tim Kiel stated: “These appointments reflect our commitment to the flexographic platemaking marketplace and the commercial packaging printers and consumer product companies whom we serve.”

Added Kiel, “This change in management structure, combined with a strategic investment in a suite of flexographic technologies and the ongoing expansion of our global geographic footprint, will help drive our plans forward while taking quality assurance processes to the next level and unlocking greater value for our clients today. Randy and Troy will oversee the management and deployment of multiple primary and secondary platemaking technologies and help steward the development of future product innovations,” said Kiel.

Kiel noted, “We are focused on creating a frictionless experience for our printing partners and our consumer product company clients. The more agile we can help make the go-to-market experience for our clients, the better prepared they are to pivot quickly to capitalize on market opportunities. The more efficient we can help make the printing process, the better prepared commercial packaging printers are to respond successfully to the needs of more agile clients.”

Peek will be responsible for overseeing Schawk’s flexographic North American platemaking operations, monitoring quality, evaluating tests and implementing emerging and enabling platemaking technologies. He will leverage Schawk’s global flexographic operational expertise to standardize quality control metrics and continuously elevate standards in response to advances in technologies.

Johnson will be responsible for overseeing North American client relationships, service delivery, and building account service teams. He will translate client requirements and the potential impact of fast-moving marketplace dynamics into current and future Schawk flexographic platemaking service offerings. Johnson will also oversee customer satisfaction and retention programs.

Added Kiel, “With Randy and Troy’s comprehensive expertise in flexographic platemaking and package printing and access to Schawk’s deep institutional knowledge globally, I am confident that together, they will mine our significant resources and relationships to deliver a new standard of excellence in flexographic platemaking.”
