MeasureColor products, to be sold through a reseller network with GMG technical support, complement GMG product line
Hingham, MA – GMG Americas (www.gmgcolor.com), the leading developer and supplier of high-end color management software solutions, and Colorware (www.colorware.eu), the leading developer of innovative pressroom color measurement software for the graphics market, announce that GMG will distribute Colorware MeasureColor products in Latin America. As distributor for Latin America, GMG will oversee and assist all reseller activity, while providing all MeasureColor products for the resellers.
MeasureColor products are a powerful, end-to-end system for color quality control and improvement of color communication between companies. Colorware's primary product, MeasureColor (formerly known as PressView), is the leading solution for color measurement across all printing technologies. More than 1000 systems have been installed in many countries all over the world. Logging on from any computer in the network, users are able to measure, analyze and compare the colors of any print production within one system. With MeasureColor, users have full control and ownership of their data as it resides on their own computers and servers. The recently introduced MeasureColor Reports product offers an easy overview of the quality of all print production via a browser.
"GMG is an expert in proofing printed materials. They do file converting, profiling and optimize color proofs on the prepress side of the workflow," explains Ruud Wentrup, Colorware CEO. "We measure how the printer is printing their colors, and our products inform GMG products how the press is printing, so GMG can regenerate the correct color profiles. Conversely, if there is a new profile generated by GMG, users can import it into MeasureColor, so the press operator can use the correct and most recent reference colors when the sheets are printed.
Colorware will keep its existing Latin American resellers, but they will now work through GMG. Many of them already have a business relationship with GMG and, for those who do not, they will find it helpful to work with a company with technical expertise and local support speaking in the native language," adds Wentrup. "They have the color expertise and all the contacts with knowledgeable resellers in the region. They understand what issues are in place at the customer sites, and how to resolve them.
"Colorware products complement GMG software—such as GMG OpenColor—to help build profiles to simulate press performance. MeasureColor measures spectral data—not LAB data— which is what GMG works with to create our OpenColor profiles. MeasureColor products also control the press and offer management reports for quality control.
