Mimaki USA used CanvasTac Gold Iridescent to decorate their Los Angeles office while showcasing their printer capabilities. 

Mimaki USA has worked with Presto’s materials in the past decorating their trade show booths with CanvasTac and PrestoTex Silver and their New Jersey office. This was a first for Mimaki USA printing and installing CanvasTac Gold Iridescent. 

CanvasTac Gold Iridescent is a 17 mil gold iridescent canvas fabric with a repositionable adhesive. The repositionable adhesive does not grow over time, which allows the wallcovering to act as a permanent or temporary graphic. Mimaki USA chose CanvasTac Gold Iridescent because of its light gold tint that helps provide a depth to the printed images. “We were very attracted to the ease of application and removal of this product. We feel that it was in our interest to keep open to design changes on a periodic basis to reflect current promotions and trends” says Senior Applications Specialist, Hugo Gonzalez for Mimaki USA. 

 Mimaki USA decorated two walls measuring 21’ x 9’ and 17’ x 9’ with the CanvasTac Gold Iridescent. The material was printed on their new Mimaki UJV55-320 UV-LED printer. Hugo was impressed that CanvasTac Gold Iridescent held the images very well on the canvas texture, he says, “Regular available profiles worked well with this material, it printed very clear without any bleeding.” The  wallcoverings were installed with a quarter inch overlap and were very easy to install. “Despite never having worked with this type of adhesive, [the installers] were able to apply it quickly and easily. I was impressed with both the ease of printing and the repositionable quality of the adhesive without damaging the wall” says Hugo Gonzalez. 

Overall, Mimaki USA was pleased with the results and thinks CanvasTac Gold Iridescent is fitting for other projects as well. “I would recommend this material; I was very happy with the adhesive properties which allowed for easy application.  I think it will be suitable for other projects in the future. It was unique and certainly received a lot of attention, management was pleased” says Hugo.
