Press release from the issuing company
Vivid Laminating Technologies has reported a record number of sales, new distribution partnerships and incredible reactions to its new products introduced at drupa.
Record Sales
Sales made during the 11-day show tripled those of drupa in 2012. This accounted for a record number of purchases by end-users and through Vivid’s increasing reseller distribution channels.
“We took a huge number of orders for both the award-winning Matrix and Easymount Laminating Systems,” said Richard Marlow, sales director at Vivid. “Since the last drupa, the Matrix in particular has evolved into a multifunctional system that can laminate, create foil print effects and spot UV-style finishes, and sales of these systems far exceeded our expectations”.
New & Existing Dealers
Vivid currently has partner resellers in over 50 countries, with a number of its dealers visiting Hall 6 to view the latest developments in print finishing.
“We hosted our dealers from all over the globe,” said Bruce Cozens, Vivid’s export manager. “Our new stand design included extra meeting hubs for our distributors to connect with their customers, which proved very successful & popular. It was great to meet up on a formal basis, and also informally to catch-up and have a beer”.
Dealers from across Europe, as well as the US, New Zealand, Australia, South America and South Africa made the trip to Düsseldorf.
“We’re now exporting to more countries than ever before,” continued Cozens. “The reliability, build quality & new revenue streams our systems bring to end-users, and the reputation of Vivid is second-to-none. We’re excited to have signed distribution partnerships with more resellers at drupa to promote our range of Matrix and Easymount laminating systems”.
New Products
The British-based designer and manufacturer also introduced a number of new products at the show, which proved very popular with drupa visitors and Vivid’s resellers.
Lewis Evans, product manager at Vivid, said “Demonstrations of the foiling and spot UV-style effects on our Matrix Systems were high in demand. Explaining the process to achieve these finishes was straight-forward and visitors to our stand were amazed at how quickly and cost-effectively they can be created”.
Vivid also introduced its Auto-Feeder for the Matrix Laminators, which allows prints to be loaded ‘on the run’ for non-stop operation and frees up operators to complete other jobs.
The Matrix Laminators also saw a new high-speed 66ft/min beta model introduced at drupa. The faster system will allow larger volume runs to be laminated quicker and save on production costs by finishing in-house. With a huge amount of interest in the new system, Vivid are to announce a launch date at a later stage.
Drupa also saw Vivid launch its new Boss Premium Foil range, allowing metalized effects to be added to prints. The foiling and overprintable colored foils work by combining the Matrix and a digital printer.
“For some, the reaction to these special print effects was breath-taking,” summarized Evans. “A number of visitors had never seen this kind of print finishing before and many couldn’t believe that just one system can laminate, foil and create spot UV effects.”
