ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA (June 4, 2002) – At the Web Offset Association’s (WOA) 50th Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, WOA announced two recipients of the Annual Vision Award. "The VISION Award is conferred to the heatset web offset industry executive (printer or supplier) who has reached an unsurpassed level of excellence and achievement in the industry. The recipient is a leader who has gone far beyond the standard obligations to become a dominant force in shaping the business of heatset printing," Martin J. Paul, current Chairman of WOA, explained. Sponsored by the Web Offset Association (WOA), this award is dedicated to the spirit of those industry pioneers whose hard work and determination have created a vibrant, growing and changing industry. For the first time in the VISION Awards history - two individuals were recognized as industry leaders in the web offset printing industry. Thomas Brinkman, founder, Metro Web Corporation and Edward Barr, Chairman, Sun Chemcial Group B.V. Both gentlemen were recognized during the VISION Award ceremony on Monday, May 6, 2002. Previous recipients of the VISION Award include: Harry Quadracci, President & Founder, Quad/Graphics, Inc., Roger Perry, Perry Printing (deceased), and John Frautschi, Chairman, Webcrafters, Inc. Candidates are nominated by their peers in the WOA industry. The final selection process done via mail-in ballot from the Web Offset Association Board of Directors.
