CTP Printers Cape Town to introduce the latest LITHOMAN

Press release from the issuing company

CTP Printers Cape Town, one of the largest media and printing houses in South Africa, put on an event on May 4th and 5th 2016 to officially introduce the new LITHOMAN system, which produced four color, short runs of up to 5,000 copies, for 24 hours.

The South African concern invested last year in a LITHOMAN IV 32 page system and therefore expanded their existing modern printing plant. The new and highly innovatively equipped LITHOMAN extends their capacity by a multitude of product possibilities and guaranteed excellent print quality.

At the beginning of 2016 the new LITHOMAN at CTP Printers began operations with numerous features from manroland web systems and was unveiled officially during the print event.

The LITHOMANs' equipment and printed products

The new LITHOMAN IV 32 pages has a maximum production speed of 37,500 cylinder revolutions/h and consists of a web, four double printing units all with DynaChange function and a 1:3:3 folder with 2 cross folds. In addition it is equipped with the automatic plate changing system APL, with a Contiweb reel splicer as well as the state-of-the-art Ecoset dryer with integrated cooler. The manroland web systems ink and cut-off register control systems InlineColor Control and InlineCutoff Control, have been installed on the new LITHOMAN as well as the ink density control system InlineDensity Control. The newest PECOM control is also part of the package. CTP Printers can produce books, calendars, magazines, advertising material, work reports and catalogues with their new machine.
24 hour print event at CTP

In order to demonstrate the unique performance strengths, advanced technology and speed of the LITHOMAN system from manroland web systems, a special event was organized in the printing house of CTP Printers at the beginning of May. During this event a notable world record was established: over a 24-hour production period, 488,185 copies or 15,616,000 four-color A4 pages respectively, were printed at an average speed of 36,806 copies per hour. The production included 96 plate changes with an average make ready time of 4.34 minutes. And thus, the new LITHOMAN, demonstrated its efficiency, very impressively.

Both the CTP team and the team from manroland web systems are proud of the success of the printing event. "I would like to congratulate CTP Printers on this excellent result. This level of performance proves that CTP Printers, thanks to their commitment and their competence, have completely mastered the control of their new LITHOMAN system" says Timothy Ruth, regional head of sales at manroland web systems.

The meaningful and modern labeling on the LITHOMAN has made the system even more unique, which is distinguishing itself through marked productivity and flexibility in production and has therefore established itself as an added value for the customer.
