Press release from the issuing company
St Louis, Missouri - At the upcoming drupa May 31 - June 10 in Düsseldorf, Nikka Research will show live demonstrations of its M1+ label inspection system integrated with a Rotoflex flagship VSI 330 slitter rewinder. Visitors to drupa can witness efficiencies of the combined solutions on the Nikka stand E41 located in hall 11.
The Nikka Alis M1 uses vision technology to detect common label production defects and position faults automatically through its integration on the rewinder. Available in two configurations, the entry M1 system includes web viewing, counting, missing label, matrix and splice detection while the M1+ adds advancements in flag detection and basic print inspection functions, such as detecting missing colours and significant colour changes, large spots and stripes in the image. Designed to work with paper, transparent film and reflective materials, the compact Alis M1 device is available for 330 and 440 mm web widths, can inspect with speeds up to 200 m/min (M1-330) and 220 m/min (M1-440) and efficiently solves the tasks of multiple sensors and devices on a rewinder.
The Nikka Alis M1 Inspection System
During drupa, the Alis M1+ inspection system on the VSI slitter rewinder will be demonstrated in dual mode configuration. The camera unit can be used as an inspection system or as workflow controller, giving printers a versatile solution when moving to workflow solutions. Printed rolls from presses with inspection systems are processed in workflow mode whereas rolls from presses without cameras are inspected in a traditional way.
Used world-wide in demanding production environments, the high speed, servo-driven Rotoflex VSI slitter rewinder features workflow enhancements, operator efficiency, and the innovative URC 2.0 and eDrive 2.0 proprietary control and drive systems. Its small footprint and ergonomic design offers impressive speed up to 305 m/min and is available in a web width of 330 or 440 mm.
The Rotoflex VSI on stand E41, hall 11 is just one of the Business Responsive Technologies from Mark Andy to be available for viewing at drupa. Attendees will also have the opportunity to interact with the simple and efficient Performance Series flexo press design on the
PrintConcept stand B33, hall 12. PrintConcept is the local representative for Mark Andy and Rotoflex in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.
