Mex, Switzerland - At drupa 2016, BOBST is confirming its innovation leadership in coating and laminating technology by presenting the new CL 750D compact laminator. Built to world class manufacturing standards, the CL 750D brings BOBST quality lamination to a larger number of converters, especially those looking for the most efficient duplex lamination solutions.
Michele Vitiello, Head of BOBST Gravure and Lamination Product Line, says, "The CL 750D is the result of our many decades of experience in lamination technology. This has enabled us to present a new laminating solution that makes the acknowledged quality of BOBST’s advanced laminating solutions available in a compact, easy to use and competitively priced machine."
Pier Luigi Ratibondi, Head of System Engineering at Bobst Italia, says, “The CL 750D has unique technical features and advantages. It offers manufacturing quality and functionalities that are not usual in this category of products. The drying tunnel has driven rollers and a straight web path, which means perfect web transportation without scratches or tension inconsistencies, on all kind of substrates including metallized films. Each nozzle bar is easy to extract for cleaning procedures. “Zero waste” technology allows immediate productivity without any waste at start up. The transfer roller performs adhesive transfer curves that guarantee homogeneous thickness at any speed, and during speed changes, which means users get the best, most consistent, laminating quality.”
The transfer roller on the CL 750D utilizes a sleeve-type system which is light, accessible and easy to use, and is of the type normally available on premium laminators. The CL750D can adapt to some of the existing transfer rollers on the market, adding flexibility in manufacturing where plants also have other laminating lines. To further enhance accessibility and ease of operation, the extraction and exchange of process trolleys for solventless and solvent-based lamination is on the operator side, which allows for a very compact machine footprint and efficient handling operations when cleaning the process unit. Pier Luigi Ratibondi says, “The gravure trolley for solvent-based lamination, and the four-cylinder type trolley for solventless, are probably the most advanced in this class of equipment."
Erik Bothorel, Head of BOBST Business Unit Web-fed, says, "With our new CL 750D compact laminator we want to serve the widest number of converters possible, wherever they are in the world. Produced to the highest manufacturing quality standards, and offering the most efficient productivity in its category, the CL 750D delivers best-in-class lamination quality, yet with easy operation. It offers total lamination flexibility without any compromise in BOBST quality."
One of BOBST’s world premieres at drupa 2016, the CL 750D compact laminator is laminating live at the show in full operation. The CL 750D is especially suited to work as an off-line laminator for the new MW 85 F, CI flexographic press, and new M6 UV flexo in-line press, which are also in demonstration.
