NEW! ECO-UV Integrated Curing System for DI Digital Offset Presses

The exciting new integrated ECO-UV system for Presstek DI presses boosts a print service provider's competitive edge with energy savings as well as speed and substrate range benefits. ECO-UV instantly cures inks – sheets coming off the press are immediately ready for finishing, improving overall job turnaround time. With Presstek DI ECO-UV, printing on nonporous substrates such as plastic and vinyl in addition to traditional paper and board is easily achieved. Specialty substrate rich-colour and scuff-resistant printing, made possible with DI ECO-UV, opens up high-value opportunities for plastic cards, packaging, labels, point-of-purchase materials and unique direct mail pieces. A Presstek DI’s waterless press design and on-press chemistry-free imaging technology represents significant environmental advantages and ECO-UV advances the environmental and cost-savings benefits even further. The integrated low energy ECO-UV lamp is about 70% more efficient than standard UV, resulting in energy savings, less heat generation and less stock deformation. Visitors to Presstek's stand will enjoy live demonstrations of plastic being printed on the highly automated 2-page, 4-colour Presstek 52DI ECO-UV digital offset press.

Being introduced at drupa is the Presstek Dimension Pro2, a versatile thermal CTP system for high quality imaging and performance. Available in 4-, 6- and 8-page formats, the Dimension Pro2 series has a range of automation and productivity configurations, delivering the right combination of price, performance, and speed that print businesses require. Its 830 nm laser system capable of imaging most popular thermal plates on the market today including Presstek’s wide range of no-compromise eco-friendly plates.  Higher efficiency in platemaking will be demonstrated on the Dimension Pro2 with the imaging of two Presstek chemistry-free plates including GemPlate, a develop-on-press plate and the Zahara plate for waterless offset printing.

NEW! GemPlate ? Develop-On-Press Thermal Plate
Presstek’s all new GemPlate is an exciting new 100% chemistry-free develop-on-press thermal printing plate. Offering run lengths to 100,000 impressions, the open platform GemPlate images on industry-standard 830 nm thermal platesetters. Once imaged, GemPlate can be mounted directly on press where fountain solution and ink remove the plate’s unexposed areas, leaving the ink-receptive image areas unaffected. In addition to chemistry-free streamlined plate production, other features and benefits of GemPlate include easy handling, fast roll-up, and wide press latitude.

Presstek Zahara™ Waterless Plates
The Zahara plate is a new thermal CTP plate engineered for the print industry’s waterless presses, both sheetfed and narrow web applications. Delivering sharper dots and a faster ink-rollup, this plate is compatible with standard offset and UV printing environments. The Zahara plate is ideally suited for print shops running a Codimag, KBA Genius 52 UV, KBA Rapida UV, Heidelberg SM 74 CD; as well as many other models. Zahara is ideal for small, half- and mid-size sheet formats, labels, packaging and plastic cards. In addition, this plate offers improved speed when compared to conventional offset makeready time.

Presstek JT Direct Inkjet Plate
Presstek’s JT Direct Inkjet Plate combines with Epson® inkjet printers, providing a simple, low-cost plate production solution. The JT metal plate images on a standard Epson inkjet printers using the printer's standard inks. Serving as a multi-function all-in-one CTP/printing system, users can image plates, print proofs, posters, and more, easily switching from one print application to another without any modifications or changing of inks. Small format plates up to a 111.76 cm (44-inch) plate can be imaged on these highly affordable systems.
