Becomes one of seven certified JDF Experts in all of Canada

TORONTO – Avanti Computer Systems Limited, a leading provider of cloud-based Print MIS solutions, today announced that Eli Wallach, Implementation Consultant for the company, has received his JDF Expert certification. Mr. Wallach is the second Avanti employee to attain this level of certification. He joins Josh Perkins, Product Manager at Avanti, who was the first-ever Canadian to become certified as a JDF expert in 2007. There are currently seven certified JDF Experts in all of Canada, and 87 worldwide.

The Job Definition Format (JDF) is the industry specification designed to facilitate process automation and the integration of different applications and systems in and around the graphic arts industry. Widely adopted and recognized worldwide as a key industry standard, JDF also enables the integration of business management and job planning applications into the production workflow. Streamlined implementation of integrations between JDF-certified systems enables precise communication, thereby reducing costly multiple “touches” on print jobs and eliminating the possibility of human error.

The JDF Expert Certificate initiative is a challenging program offered by CIP4, the standards association that developed JDF. The certificate is specifically designed for those persons leading their company's efforts to implement JDF-based automated processes and Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM).

A JDF Expert has a comprehensive understanding of the JDF (Job Definition Format) process and specific topics associated with JDF technology including: processes and resources; pre-press, printing and bindery workflows; and impact on business information systems. A certified JDF Expert has achieved a minimum level of 80% proficiency on the JDF Expert Certification Program exam.
