Domino to launch new B2 sheet-fed ink jet Digital Printing Solution at drupa 2016

Press release from the issuing company

Domino will use its newly launched 782mm print width K600i monochrome printer to demonstrate a new sheet-fed digital printing solution printing across the full width of a B2 sheet on their Stand No A23 in Hall 5 at drupa 2016 (Messe Düsseldorf, 31st May - 10th June).

Bryan Palphreyman, Domino Product Manager said, "We are pleased to be partnering with Gremser, who provide a range of high performance sheet-fed handling solutions, to launch this new and unique solution to the market at drupa."

The Domino K600i is a truly modular and scalable system that can be provided in up to 7 print width formats, with two speed capabilities and with UV curable or aqueous ink. The Gremser SPL70 can feed B2 sheets from 60gsm to 250gsm in weight, enabling it to be used for applications as diverse as security fiscal tax stamps, ticketing, gaming cards, high impact mailing, pharma and light-carton packaging.

During the show, a number of pre-printed ticketing and gaming type applications will have fully personalised, variable and secure data overprinted onto them at speeds of up to 120m/min with a monochrome highly scratch and rub resistant UV ink. Unlike other applications where variable print data has to be limited to zonal areas on the sheet, the Domino solution can print at any position across the entire width of the B2 sheet without mechanical adjustment.

Palphreyman concludes, "Once again, we want to demonstrate real 'added value' solutions to our customers. With over 200 K600i installations worldwide, this newly launched wider B2 version enables our customers to more cost effectively produce variable data solutions within the relatively new market for ink jet that is B2."
