The patent issued (US 6,381,032) covers the conversion of PostScript to PDF graphic image files within an automated printing system. This process eliminates the potential for human error in the print production process by automatically converting print-ready PostScript files to PDF, enabling customers to accurately proof printed items online, rather than having to order costly blueline proofs. Once approved, the customer's files are automatically transmitted to an ImageX production facility for printing. By eliminating human intervention in the proofing and production process, ImageX is able to greatly reduce the total cost of print for its customers.
