Color management and proofing systems help printers maintain color consistency with a collection of different printers
Hingham, MA USA – GMG, the leading developer and supplier of high-end color management software solutions, will be demonstrating its color management expertise in digital—as well as traditional—printing during the Dscoop Annual Conference, held April 14-16 in San Antonio, TX. Dscoop (Digital Solutions Cooperative) is an independent community of HP graphic arts users, industry experts and solution partners. Today, Dscoop is a dynamic community throughout the world.
"GMG color management solutions are exceptional for all forms of digital—and analog—presses, and from commercial to wide format to package printing," says Joseph Varone, GMG Americas President. "While we are certainly looking to show Dscoop members how to maintain accurate, consistent color for all of the HP digital presses, many of these printers must match the color with traditional presses as well."
GMG ColorServer: The reliable way to easily optimize images from different sources for different printing methods
Projects for a large-format banner, a brochure or packaging have at least one thing in common: customers who demand that the color must be exact. GMG ColorServer provides fully automated color conversions for all printing processes, guaranteeing consistent results for a variety of printing processes and substrates. Separation and conversion is no longer associated with an enormous amount of work. Supporting GMG ColorServer is GMG SmartProfiler, a software-wizard that allows any user to calibrate, recalibrate and profile digital, large format, and traditional printing systems easily and without advanced knowledge of color management.
Users are guided through each task – step-by-step. Unlike other technologies, the software also has useful presets for the different ink types found in large format and digital printing.
With a centralized color management system delivered by GMG ColorServer and GMG SmartProfiler, different front ends, RIPs and printing processes no longer need to be individually configured and synchronized—whether digital or analog.
GMG OpenColor: Reliable proof profiles for packaging printing
GMG OpenColor, a recipient of a Flexographic Technical Association Technical Innovation Award and an InterTech™ Technology Award will also be a highlight on the GMG booth. With the increasing use of multi-color printing and different combinations of inks, substrates, screening, and other variables, packaging printing has become a costly process that involves a lot of color fingerprints and profile tweaking. GMG OpenColor provides a proofing technology that precisely predicts the color appearance of printed inks, particularly ‘overprints’—inks printed on top of each other without requiring extensive fingerprinting. GMG OpenColor's user interface provides easy to use connectivity to measurement devices. GMG OpenColor has been an indispensable tool for both major, and smaller, package printers. It is a helpful tool for printers creating packaging with an HP Indigo press—along with analog flexo or offset presses.
GMG ColorProof: The preferred solution for contract proofing
It is inefficient to proof projects on production presses. GMG ColorProof offers uncompromising color fidelity and is compliant with globally accepted printing standards (such as ISO Offset, PSO, GRACoL and SWOP). Its reliability and remarkable performance make it an indispensable tool among leading color management experts. GMG ColorProof comes pre-loaded with color profiles of all common standards, so users can get started right away. Select the printer, calibrate it, and you are ready to print the first proof in just a few seconds. With GMG ProofControl, a proof label and control strip guarantee quality control for any proof. Information about a proof's color accuracy is always available—important for everyday consistent reproduction and vital for legally-binding contract proofs.
"GMG's variety of color management solutions is perfect for any print facility. In particular, our GMG ColorServer centralized color management assures that artwork produced on any digital printer is consistent," notes Varone. "We look forward to showing Dscoop members how to get the most accuracy out of their HP printers."
