Federal Reserve Board to Use PIA Industry Data in Tracking Economy

Press release from the issuing company

ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA (May 22, 2001) –The Federal Reserve Board has requested access to Printing Industries of America, Inc. (PIA) survey data and industry analysis to be included in the materials that are analyzed by Chairman Alan Greenspan and others in tracking the economy. PIA will be sending data from its monthly and quarterly print market survey as well as the Economic and Print Market Flash Reports, which are distributed to PIA members twice a month via e-mail and posted in the members only section of PIA's Web portal, www.GAIN.net. PIA’s forecasts of industry trends have empirically proven to be very accurate. In fact, recent comparisons with industry forecasts from other sources shows PIA's forecasts have consistently been the most accurate. These reports provide economic and print market insight from Dr. Ron Davis, PIA’s Chief Economist. According to Davis "PIA’s economic and industry survey system provides an accurate up-to-date assessment of month to month, quarter-to-quarter and annual print sales and other indicators. This on-going monitoring is an invaluable service to PIA members as they manage their businesses during these uncertain times for the economy and print markets."
